Sue's 911 was in the shop for some major work. Ground the cams, engine seals, brakes and other maintenance. We didn't really need that 10k anyway .......

geez, that much for those repairs??
Sunny today but high of only 80 so far. Means pool water is getting too cold to be in. I feel like I've not been in it hardly it's either hot as the surface of the sun outside or raining or something is going on and I'm not home. Slow day at the office, not complaining. Dont' feel well, headachy and like fevery but no real fever. Not covid, test was negative, not sure what I got but keeping to myself.

Ya, the wallet took a hit but it now has a bunch of new parts including a starter, alternator, fans and housings. The engine was basisally removed and torn down, resealed and deficient parts replaced. Sue said she's running great. Should be good for years to come. If we we're going to keep it (which we are) might as well keep it in tip top shape. We've had it for 18 years now with no major issues. Every once and awhile we had to spend a few $$$ on it. Like when we first got it we got it in top running order. In 2005 I had a new top put on and the wheels rechromed. The top looks like new and the wheels are for the most part holding up. A little pitting. Paint and body are great. It's worth over 3x what we paid for it in 05. It's part of the family. $4200 labor and the rest was parts.

Hey guys, Bought a replacement for the Caddy yesterday. Another CTS. Five years newer (2019, Same generation as the 2014) 3.6, AWD, dark polished wheels and 24K on the clock. I hate dealing with BIG dealerships. But we got within $500 of my target price.

This morning, the insurance adjuster came to look at the '14 Caddy... his first comments was "Is that really a 2014? It looks a lot newer than that. You're not planning on keeping this car are you, because it's a total." Just kept shaking his head in disbelief, "This is really a 2014, it looks like a new one." I hope that means he's going to give us top dollar on the value payout.

After everything calmed down I spent three hours washing, claybarring, polishing and applying a ceramic coating. Needs to cure out for 24 hours now.
