i just bought a 88 corvette and the person i bought the clutch from put a whole new clutch system in recently. anyways when the corvette idles without me pushing the clutch in i hear a click click click click click sound. i took it back to the person that put the clutch in and he got underneath the pedels and adjusted something. anyways i go to drive it today and the same click click click noise is happening. my mom thinks is might be the fly wheel or somthing. anyone have advice?

My god....you have a clock under your car Honestly its hard to tell from that description. Does it sound like metal hitting metal, anything "feel" loose?

I was thinking it's the OD unit ticking down to explosion.

(See numerous threads in CF about that)

Very doubtful it the slave cylinder, as it's outside of the bell housing, and about 6 inches from the flywheel.

More likely the throw-out bearing.
Sounds to me from your other posts, the person who did the clutch work did a bad job.
As far as that guy adjusting something down by the pedals, there's nothing down there to adjust, so this guy is handing you some BS.

Does the tapping go away when you depress the clutch pedal?
If the tapping noise remains the same, it 's not clutch related.

You might be better off doing a little more research as to where/what is actually causing these noises. We can all sit here and speculate, but it would be better if you could tell us exactly where the noise is emminating.

the other day the same thing was happeneing me and my friend jacked it up and he looked at the slave cylinder and saw that the arm on it or somthing was hiting. when i called him he just went under neath the pedels and tightened somthing. problem fixed. now the same noise is happening. i live downtown and dont have a garage or a driveway to jack the thing up. it the noise only happens when there is no pressure to the clutch.

Here, allow me to bump this thread for you Brian. I know you are headed over here...but please....just one thread. no need to post 10 threads over here on the same subject.
