Anyone here use the racetronix harness that connects to the Alternator and runs to the Fuel Pump?

If so, how/where did you route the wiring from the Alternator to the Fuel Pump.

why would it run directly to the Alternator?

surely they're just using that term as a way to say "power when the key is on"

There has to be a fuse in there somewhere.

If I where looking for fuel pump power, I wouldn't go directly to the battery (or a wire that is always hot) because the fuel pump would run all the time. I'd be looking for a wire that is hot only when the key is in the "run" position.

I assume you've already looked at the photos on their website. They show some of the routing.

Unfortunately not very helpful, but that's all I can offer, I never installed the harness I bought

Changed out the Fuel filter today,, all thats left to do is to put the new Fuel Pump in and run the haress to the alternator

Well I was curious,, run it along the center of the car, or the driver side chassis...

I guess will just crawl under there and see which way looks to be the most secure..

Thanks!

I know my first post was just me giving opinions...which is true.

I just cannon imagine you can't get power from a lead already in the area.

Are they tying to say that you need a large diameter wire straight from the Alt in order to give you enough power to run this pump?

I bought an independent wiring harness that comes with a 30-amp relay and basically is a direct power feed to the fuel pump so the voltage to the pump does not drop during hard acceleration.

I've got it installed on my '95. I'll take some pics and post them later this afternoon when I'm done working. I've got the car in the air right now, so it is good timing.

The bulk of the cable was zip-tied to the brake lines on the driver side and brought up along the frame rail into the engine compartment.

Also, for other people's information, the battery voltage is fused and controlled by a relay which is actuated by the stock wiring harness. There are no dangers associated with this setup.

Thanks, thats what I wanted to know, if it runs down the brake lines ,then I can figure it out from there.

It wouldn't run all the time assuming you are using a relay.

Friday, I was having to unhook the Alternator wiring to get another component out. That Red wire back there is.....(gasp)....hot!!! all the time.

I have no real knowledge of what they are trying to do...I'm more curious than anything, and I am looking for an answer.

On the alternator there are two wires on top and that red one that likes to weld using screwdrivers as a rod on the back.

where would this lead hook to?

Yup - that's how I ran mine, too.
