WELL!!! What kind were they?

I just upgraded to 17 inch. New wheels, tires, rotors and pads. I went with the BF Goodrich G Force Sport 275x40x17 and they ride and handle great.

Good 16 inch tires are getting tougher to find. BFG discontinued my favorite tire a couple of years ago. I wound up going with Kuhmo's. They are a better tire than I expected.
The old set on my car was 10 years old. New sneakers always make a difference. :thumbleft:

When I bought the Vette it had some old weird tires on there (I don't even remember the name of them now). I was amazed at the power since I couldn't keep traction in 1st, 2nd or 3rd...floor it and the rear end got twitchy. Hard tires...I replaced em with 315's in the rear not it only does that when I want it to (but not in 3rd)

New tires would be great! Heres a question, what PSI do you use. I mean, how much. I am at 26lbs in each tire and I am thinking that is alittle low. I want to raise it up to 32lbs. I would think I could get better gas milage and traction.

My 87 door sticker calls for 35psi in both front and rear. I run 36 all around.

26 is too low....32 is what I keep mine at. You'll feel the difference!

Ok, I dont know why they were at 26 lbs. I will have to fill them up next time I fill up on gas Which by the way, is now at $2.57

Kumhos are actually very good tires. I just put 17's on my 84 and went with 315's rear and 275's front. Love it! Handles great!

Do you blokes put nitrogen in your tyres over there? Ive always run it in mine on both my Corvettes, i remember when i made the change on the 87 it was noticed, but not so much on the 94 (had alot of other stuff done at the same time though)

I've heard a lot of good things about running Nitrogen in the tires and a few of the owners in my PT Cruiser clubs do use it. My problem would be to have to go to the few and far between dealers to add any that is lost. It's not like everyone carries the stuff. I keep an eye on all my cars and check them at least every month (if not sooner). I add even 1 pound if one of the tires is lower than the others and I'd hate to run to a Nitrogen dealer to add 1 pound...they think I'm nuts.

Ive found it holds presure very well, ive never had to add any at any stage, but over here you can get it reasonably easy, so that is good
