Wow, that kart would be a blast there, especially after Red Johnny modifies it :D

Andy,

I spent ten years in Italy and of course traveled all over Europe while there, your observations are pretty much spot on, Italy has a slightly different tax rate but they do tax everything (radio/tv tax, engines over a certain size, the space in the back of a station wagon!) I found quite a few Italians that knew a LOT about American history, and a LOT that seemed to forget it (like who liberated them).

I bought a set a couple of weeks ago and installed them. The Vette purrs now! Instead of elims, I hollowed the main cat and went with Ansa performance mufflers

Almost 11 years. I found it in the classifieds of the Stars and Stripes (American newspaper in Europe). Talked to lady a few times and had her e-mail a bunch of pics. Then my wife and I bought a couple of one way train tickets to Luxembourg and drove her back! Great first ride in the Vette, through Germany, Switzerland and Italy.

I've loved my '90 but the next Vette I get hopefully is a chrome bumpered C3! I've never liked the C5, but do like the C6, but I'd hate to have one out of warranty. My friends and I have changed a ton of things on the 90 I can't imagine that there is a lot a shadetree mechanic could do on a C6.

That sounds great. I got out a couple of weeks ago for the first time in about 18 months...a lot of fun but my game was pretty bad.

Time for a new set a clubs and I'll be out hitting the links soon :D

I picked up a 42" Westinghouse LCD 1080p for 949 at Best Buy a couple of months ago, the only time I really get 1080p is when I hook it up to the computer and use it as a monitor to watch movies.

Nothing else came close to that price for a 1080p 42" and I should be happy with it for years.

If I ever sell my '90 it'll be out of state. I don't want to see what happens to it after resurrecting and taking care of it for the last 9 years. My last car before the Vette was a Mercedes 190E that I did the same thing too. I saw it again about 4 years after I sold it in an impound lot...

Hey Frank, good to see you here. Marcho Polo and Thrills, just those names bring back fond memories of how the forum used to be way back when. Red Crew/Blue Crew...that was a lot of fun! CF has really gone downhill. I still visit occasionally but rarely post anymore, I spend what time I have online here and at DC.

I can't say that I'd blame you John. You've put more into that Vette in the last two than I have in eight years. The sad part is you've probably got most of the kinks worked out, but without knowing for sure it's a tough decision.

John,

Did you take any pics of your setup? I didn't hand out any since I was out walking the subdivision with my wife, her friend and the kids (our 3 year old and her friends 3 year old)

The little guys did alright and had a couple of pumpkins worth from walking about a 1/4th of the Subd. Then he headed in since they were getting tired.

That's surprising to me. I've had the best customer service from TLD. When I lived in Italy I ordered some exhaust parts from them and somehow double ordered. They called me twice the first time I wasn't home and they left a message with my wife, then they called back later to make sure of what I wanted to order. They also pretty consistently had the lowest prices of all of the "Vette catalogs".

Nice to see how this place has perked up! With the mass exodus from CF, we have received a LOT of folks over at digitalcorvettes, I figured a few would show up here too. Cool! I can't remember the last time I hit show new threads and 2 pages worth came up

Mine made a similar sound before I replaced the bearings...it's not hard to check...get the Vette in the air and see if there is any play in the wheel (try to move it laterally) if there's any "slop" you've found the problem.

Sumitomos! I'm on my 2nd set now...the first lasted about 4 years. I bought the first set from Tirerack but this time found someone who could beat their prices. Tires-easy.com for $425 shipped to my door. I checked around and no one locally could get within $100 of the shipped price.

There are many that will fit. Your choices are from a single din to a double din unit. I put a single din unit in mine a few years back and ran the cable for the CD changer to the rear compartment. I also removed all of the speakers and replaced the bose amp units with 4x6 in the front kick panels and 6x9's in the rear.

The install kit that I used (metra) also gave me a little extra storage space below the headunit.

Here's a link to where I found the adapter to hook the aftermarket head unit to the radio receiver.

I put a pair on the back of my old blown Mustang automatic tranny'd Vert, and literally had to change the tune-up on the car, because it bogged on the street. On the flip-side, I couldn't get them to hook on my last car, which was a stick shift car...

Wow...talk about hooking up!

After taking it out...removing the sending unit from the assembly and cleaning the contacts/bindings then putting it back to together. It doesn't look complicated at all. I got the 2 hour thing from the CF post...

I told my wife about it and she said..."sounds like a good project for your next mod day"

I wish more of you dudes were local...it'd be cool to have a bunch of C4's lined up for a Mod day

Anyone ever repaired/replaced it? I almost ran out of gas today with it the gauge showing half a tank. I remember reading somewhere how to fix the faulty sending unit...it was a good step by step how to. Anyone done it?
