So, my DD is a 1999 Chrysler 300M that I special ordered and purchased new. The window sticker even has my name on it. "Built for JSUP"......

I have been looking at new cars, nothing out there really interests me. I was kinda liking the Volvo S80, but at high $40s for the 8 cyl, I just can't see dropping that kind of money for a car, since I refuse to finance a car.

My friend picked up a 2000 300M for work, he called and was telling me what a great car he thought it was...so I says to myself.........self, it's really a pretty nice car in flawless shape....keep the dam thing until you find something that you really like.

So, I go to my mechanic and tell him to do a timing belt, I heard some rattle from the cats (I think) and smelled eggs once, so fk it, do the cats too. While you're at it do the shocks, and trans service. WTF, get another 50K out of this thing.

I said to him I'll throw $2K at this car until I find something I like....

He asks, "looking for a new car?" Anyway, his brother works for a local company, family run. The father died and the two sons were running the company. He purchased a 2007 Caddy CTS just before he died......it had 200, yes 200, that's 200 miles......

He said they wanted $24K, they paid $39K. Sight unseen, I said sold. Went home, picked up a checkbook, and bought the car. $24K and done.

It's not my favorite car, I like the size of the STS better, but hell, I got a car with 100,000 mile four year warrantee left on it. It has the 3.6 which is a nice little motor. All for an astonishing $17,000 off what they originally paid, and probably $20K off sticker, with 200 miles!!

So, how'd I do?

As for my 300, Dad wants it. Serious, the car is in like new condition. My wife took it out the other night to her friends house for a "candle party" and all the women thought it was actually a new car. New tires, claybar twice a year, ect.....

Dad's happy he got a "beater", I got the CTS....good day.
