How was the weekend?

My whole family went to check out Speed Racer on Mother's Day. My wife is not one to please herself...

Anyway, I was prepared to hate it, being a fan of the original cartoon. But it wasn't TOO bad. I guess I would rate it a B-. Whereas Iron Man would be a B+ or an A. Just my opinion though.

I would love to have the money to make Speed Racer into a movie, but do it in a retro 60's style, and use 60's era race cars. Like the Ferrari GTO, Ford GT 40, Shelby Cobra and such. But I digress... It was a decent movie.

What did I do all weekend???? Worked. Delivered in Edmonton Ab on Friday and had plans to meet Pianoguy in the Twin cities on the way home buy we went through the T/C's at 5am so I thought I better not bother him at that hour. LOL.

Too bad. I was looking forward to meeting Brad. Next time I'm in the area we'll meet.

Off now for the start of the week.

Made some phone calls to put out a few fires then this afternoon my wife and I pick up our grandson from daycare and spend some time with him.

Friday was pretty good. Got the 87 aligned, according to the shop, it came out "perfect". I was expecting the call saying: Your tie rod ends are bad, the control arms are shot, and you need a new steering rack!!!
So, the guy at the alignment shop had some cool cars laying around, a little sprint car, an old LeMans, and a Camaro, so I asked him if he knew anyone that did performance mods. He pointed me to a guy about 5 miles from where I live. I drove on over and talked to the guy. He builds race cars, and sells performance parts. If I decide to mod the 87, this guy will be key.
On Saturday, I burned the whole day shopping, had to get stuff for the wife, and my daughter's Birthday was Sunday too.
On Sunday, it rained like heck. Just hung around, watched poor Paul Goydos lose a playoff to Sergio. Bummer.

We did the parade thing again this year and ended at our house for a BBQ. Everyone had a great time and looking forward to gathering at other events.

Rose glowed in the sunshine! Nice to see a full days worth of color sanding and polishing paid off.

Then a nice drive out to one of the local winerys for a Mothers Day lunch and watch the Swans.

Worked. Gulf of Mexico. Still doing it. Making the oil companies richer and I have to pay the same as everyone else for gas. Something aint right. Oil stock sucks too! I want to go home.

Was really nice on Saturday here in INDY, Sunday it rained all day.

INDY 500 qualifications got rained out on Sunday as well.

Should be action packed this next weekend!

Monday is beautifu outside.

This weekend? Saturday went to a family party and then went out to a bar with my BIL (which his gf's parents happen to own...bad idea). Thus, Sunday, I spent recovering with a nasty hangover. I remember why I don't drink like I did in college. Is this a sign I'm getting old???

Oh well. Had some training at work this morning, I'm off tonight, and gonna hit the weights and then the wifey and I are taking the car for a cruise to get some ice cream.

I got in touch with my redneck roots and went to a Rodeo.

Yeeha.

Also went riding in the thick fog. That was frightening. Can't see shit, wet curvy road, and using one hand to wipe the visor off every 5 seconds.
