Question, there was a magazine article run a few years ago about how a C4 corvette has radar deterrent properties. They did a study on it and the results were in the article. Does anyone have a copy of this or know where I can find it? Thanks!

Don't have it but I remember being in a class where Gordon Killebrew talked about the development of the C4.
If I remember correctly he said that the C4's radiator was placed at an angle in order to reduce hood height. He said that tests showed that this would make radar signals reflect up away from the radar gun instead of straight back to the police officer as a C3's radiator does.
If I recall correctly he also stated that anyone that placed a metal license plate on the front of a C4 ended up losing that stealth benefit.

Yea, the license plate will blow it.

It's the guy in the airplane with the stopwatch that scares me.

Thanks, that should help aid me in finding this article!

I know the C3 did that, and the later C4, but the early C4 sucks.

From what I found so far the C3 was not that good at stealth but the C4 was. 90EXPvette submitted this article

It states that because of the angle of the radiator its more deterrent

It is telling that... on the ZR1 vette with a polarized windshield, they left a small square opening specifically for installing a radar detector.

Metallic tint and polarized glass really hurts detector sensitivity, and almost all the new cars have it in some form.

84, Radiator is slightly tilted forward at the top

85-89, Radiator is vertical

90-96 Radiator is raked back..(similar to the way the C3 was)
