A friend's son was telling me yesterday that he had bought an old Geo beater to drive back and forth to work. The headlights weren't working well, so he went to the auto parts store and got a couple new ones. The first one went in fine, but installing the other one required removal of the battery. When he tried to pull the battery out, the top of it came right off, and he found himself staring at the innards! He carefully tapped the top back on, and the car still started, so he figured he'd better get back to the auto parts store pronto for a new one. He went in and told the guy at the counter that he needed a new battery "for that", pointing to his Geo. The guy at the counter said, "Double or triple A?" LMAO!

rag on those Geo's, but they are brutally crude, but brutally tough little cars. The Metros I know of that friends have had easily make it to 200k miles.

I do like the joke, tho.

Yeah, he sure likes the fact that his little beater Metro gets 38 mpg. But it took him a couple of days to laugh about the battery ;-)

I always wondered what one of those would be like if it was tubbed with a solid rear and a blown big block sitting in the hatch behind you.
