Hey guys.....I don't think my stock TB is going to be sufficient with the 427.

Any suggestions as to size and brand?

Thanks

Sorry man

NO, I'm going with the MR for now because it's in the budget.

I would love to go to your platform, but it's far more expensive.

That's my end game...not immediate.

58mm is what you need for that monster.

no question.

Those are chinese copies of the BBK. I have one, seems fine.

Doesn't fit the stock accordian duct though, and that's why its still on the bench.

Jon,

I bought the Profesional Products 58mm. I haven't had the opportunity to actually test it in action yet but from appearance alone it seems to be a quality part. The finish is nice and if I recall it fits my stock late C4 intake duct. I'll check on that for you.

I'm selling my miniram and 58mm throttle body soon if you have not purchased yet. Not sure what your timeline is though.

Don, you need an airfoil in that thing!

Careful with the "bigger is better" approach to the TB. Granted, a 427 is much bigger than the 383 I have, but I'm feeling more power with the stock 48 mm than the 52 mm TB I bought for my conversion two years ago.

Dyno results on Friday will confirm what happened...

Odd...I'm thinking more torque less HP with the OE piece.

I don't think a smaller throttle body at WOT is any different than a larger one at 80% throttle. (Whether your engine can draw enough air through it to lose any measureable amount of power, is another story.)

IMO, anything upstream of the plenum is just a restriction to HP and torque. There are no wave tuning effects to take advantage of.

I have the polished Professional Products 52 MM on mt LT4 and am happy with it.

One drawback is that the top plate gasket is non standard and not available.

I think the limiting factor on getting more air may be the plumbing upstream of the TB.
