How do you reset the ECM,I just got my new injectors and I need to reset the ECM. Also a friend of mine that knows everything about everything told me today that my ECM was bad and that is why my car runs the way it does.

If you unplug the negative battery cable for 15 minutes, it's suppose to reset itself.

I've also been told to turn the lights and radio on to drain any minute residual charge from the system.

Or turn the ignition key to on -- after you disconnect the battey.

ECM and other codes CCM, ASR/ABS, DERM go away this way...

When my ECM went bad in my 89 coupe, the car would barely run at startup and low speeds. You could smell gas coming out of the exhaust. It would throw no codes either.

Just to let you guys know , I have to bad injectors also. So keep that in mind when trying to help me. Where can I get a ECM ?

don't replace the ECU until you fix the damned injectors. You are throwing good money after bad.

SORRY didn't mean to upset you Bogus !! I didn't say I was going to get a ECM yet I was going to change injectors first anyway. I just want my car fixed and I have alot of people telling different things.

no, it will not. It will store a history code until otherwise cleared.
