Good morning CGs!

How is the morning so far? I'm watching the rugrat today so the wifey can go to work. We've got an exciting day planned. A little laundry, pick up the dry cleaning, run a couple errands. Mr. Mom. Love it.

On a pissy note, I am P.O.'d about my pool pump. I went outside this morning to put a little shock in before I close it this week. Turn on the pump motor (the same motor I just replaced last fall for over $200) and all I heard was a horrible screeching and whining noise. WTF? I ran it a week ago with no problems. I'm wondering if all the massive rain we had last week did something, or if a bug crawled in there and gunked stuff up. I turned it off and disconnected it, but I don't think I'll have time to disassemble it until my wife comes home tonight. Really irks me. Ugh. Hopefully it's something simple. I don't want to replace it....again.

What's everyone else up to?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

TUESDAY BAND/MUSIC TRIVIA:

Name three bands whose names have three words ("the" doesn't count!) - and make them bands we've heard of. The kid next door's garage band, "The Snotty Nose Rags" doesn't count, either!

For example: "Creedence Clearwater Revival" (and no you can't use that one again!)

I'm scouring ebay for deals on old RC car shit. This hobby was fun as a kid when even $20 was a big purchase that I might be anxious about saving up for. Now it's hard not to blow a few hundred on the latest gadgets.

I dusted mine off from 1992 and have been tearing up the backyard with it. The amazing part is some of these old rechargeable batteries still work pretty good after sitting in the attic forever.

Dude, I have a large box of Tamiya 1:10 cars and parts. If you will pay for shipping you can have it all. I can dig it out and get photos if you want. I don't know if there are any entire vehicles left, but there are a shitload of parts, that's for sure!

I think at least three two-servo transmitters and receivers are in there.

And I do have a fully built, but never run Monster Beetle that I would want a couple bucks for, but not much.

Let me know.

I never really got into RC stuff. I had the cheap gizmo things that were made in japan but nothing more than 10 bucks worth. I had a freind who was into the cool RC stuff and I used to drool but again I never really got into it. A cool hobby for sure. I would love to get into the gas powered choppers and fly them around.

What if "the" is in the middle of the band name?

Where does "Queens of the Stone Age" fit? Is it 3 or 5?
And what about Rage Against the Machine?

And of course, KTPD (my band on XBox 360's Rock Band)...
Kicking the Pregnant Dog

Sheesh, I'll stop now.

I have a few boxes of misc crap too. I really don't want more. I've been slowing weeding through it and throwing out the stuff that is useless.

My house is small, 1000 sq ft, 1-car garage, plus the attic, so not much room for anything, which is good really. So many people out there that need 3-400 extra sq ft of rooms or garage or paid storage just to store their junk.

This little car is so ancient, but it still runs with the new ones. In fact, its a little beefier and heavier and has been MORE reliable than the other guy's newest version of it. He has two of them and can't even keep one going consistently.

Hey guys....halfway through laundry. Awesome. Baby took a nap and she's wide awake now. I think she's gonna go downstairs and watch daddy work out. Fun.

Good band guesses! I didn't think we would have this many guesses.

Who is/are "Black Stone Cherry"? Anything we'd hear on the radio?

As far as the other topic, I never really got into the RC cars. I remember my dad's friend was into them, had all the gas powered blah blah...I thought they were neat, but probably a little out of my price range as a kid. Now I play with big cars

I started working in a hobby shop when I was 14 or 15 and worked there for several years. I built a couple RC cars but my real deal was RC aircraft. I learned to fly pretty proficient by the time I was 16 and was flying pattern aircraft and pylon racers until my early twenties. I played with them a bit in college but lost all my stuff to a roomate playing 9 ball. I should have kept to flying planes instead of shooting pool. LOL

I have always thought of picking it up again, but you know it would drain my wallet just as bad as the car does.

I have an RC10 that has at least that much dust on it.

Nice to be home - I'm turning into a freaking professional meeting attender at work :-P

Not really my style, but not bad.

Matthew

PS - turns out the pool pump noise was caused by all the rain. Must have gotten really wet inside and caused a little rust inside one of the bearings. I cleaned it up and repacked it, seems to be ok. Now I just need to figure out how the switch works, because when I put it back together I had low but high wasn't working right....grrrr.
