I have been having fitment problems with my Corsa system since about day one. I have had it welded before and after a warrantee claim a couple of years ago, I have been depending on the clamps.

I really hate it when the exhaust comes undone and it either gets all "piffy" or sounding like a NASCAR.

I went to Sweeney's Custom Mufflers today and got the system welded up.

What he found was that the right head pipe was actually a bit too long (or, really, the left heat pipe was a bit too short, take your pick). He shortened the right pipe to make it even then fitted the system, aligned the tips about perfectly (within 1/8"!) and welded the system.

It took him about 2.5 hours to get it all right.

His work is very good and he really knows his job. I highly recommend him!

He is open Monday thru Friday (8:30a to 6:00p) and some Saturday's. His shop is behind the Jiffy Lube.

There's no such thing as a bolt-on exhaust system that fits!

oh, yea... He hit me for $150 to rehang and weld up the exhaust.

Nearest freeway, the 110. He is a couple miles west of the 110 freeway, Sepulveda exit.

The guys that hung my Magnaflows for me sucked! I tried to get them to re-do it and they said no. They said it would cost me the second time around. Finding a good shop is really important. My tips still exit the rear at angles pointing outward and I hate it. The installer said they looked more cool that way!! Give me a freakin' break. They should exit straight out the back in my OP.

For a buck and a half, that's very reasonable.

I do my own work and have a few tricks on alignment that help.

I don't have a welder... he used a thin roll of tape to keep the relationship between the resonator and the car equal.

From there he worked back from the engine to the exhausts.

I do need to visit him, tho, I have a leak at a collector and I just can't reach.

Andy, go to Fantasy Muffler in Buena Park.

These guys are the absolute best and very reasonable. They've taken care of so many things for me over the years....and all because I bought one system from them back when I had my RX7

Classy classy folks

I've done those three times and you are right. Specially the Magnaflow on my 96. Its too big (3") and the pipes touch all over the place. A hammer did the trick.
