Anyone out there know of a good mechanic in the Cleveland area to help me out finishing my car off. I just do not have time to deal with it and really want to start driving it. Someone that is a LT1 specialist would be wonderful but anyone that knows more than I do would work. That's not saying much though. Thanks.

I know someone in Akron, but not Cleveland.
You might want to contact JDS_WHITE_93 either here or at CF, he might be able to put you onto someone good.

Dale, Akron is only about 40 minuets away. ThatÂ’s not too far to go for a good mechanic at a fair price. The car is drivable it even passes emissions I just have a few things that need done before I can finish the tune.

Afraid George is a bit far to travel though.

I built a website for them.

http://www.gearheads.co.cc

Nick is the guy I dealt with. He drives an 80 Vette. Their hourly rate is $50. They will quote by the job and don't do it straight by the book like dealers. He did my starter, I'm pleased with the work, and what seems to be their level of knowledge. If you want to talk, PM and I'll shoot you my number.

Hey Dale, I checked out the website. You should put some pics of your car up there.

And what's up with the "about us" page:

Quote:
About Us

Gearheads qualified staff is here and ready to help you with your project.

* Nick - email
* Another guy - email
* Another guy - email

PS - the emails don't have links?

I built it as a favor about a two weeks ago.
Gave them the keys, told them they could modify it, or have me do it. Apparently it's not high on their priorities.
I'm not a web designer, just messing around in my spare time.

They're nice guys, have some great cars in their show room, the 3 cars on the right are very similar to cars they have in the showroom. In shooting the breeze with them, I told them I knew how to make a free website. I did it. I figure it doesn't hurt to suck up to mechanics.

I know a great LT1 shop in Cleveland. Don't have the number on me. I have it at home, I'll post later.

Performance something or other...the name isn't unique enough to be memorable.

Time for a update. I took the car to Gearheads. Very nice guys and extreamly reasonable price. I dont know anyplace that will work on a car for around $50 an hour let alone a speed shop working on a corvette. They fixed the exhaust leaked by welding up the bottom part of the header openings and grinding them back flat.

They also found out why I could not get my rockers adjusted, they were always macking a lot of noise. Turns out the GM rockers are not compatable with the keepers Lloyd Elliot used when he did my heads.

Great to hear.
I was wondering how it went for you. I have talked to Nick since you were there, he told me you mentioned me. I'm really pleased with them, and will use them again.
