SCCA at the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino.
Proof positive that I can't take pics for chit. What made me buy a point & shoot Pentax without a viewfinder, I'll never know.

Great way to spend a day.

Did you happen to hear any bells ringing or lights flashing before or after the event?

Pics look fine to me!

I like the rims on that yellow vette.

Did you run at all, or were you working?

No, I didn't run or work, just hung out. I work all the SCCA road racing events here and that's about as much volunteering as I want to do.

There were maybe 20 Vettes there but when I went back to the C4 for fresh batteries, there was a puddle of antifreeze under it so, no more pics.

No biggie, a hole in a heater hose. At least there were trailers full of tools there.

My C4 didn't get in the pics, who wants to see a puddle of antifreeze anyway.

My racecar has a slight miss in the motor.

It's out of a Formula Ford motor, 1600cc. Love the class, hate the motor but unfortunately there's never been a Formula Chevy class.
The motor blew at 6700rpm, just past start/finish at Laguna.

It will be quite a while brfore I'm back on the track.

Sorry to hear that. What do you think made it fail? I could see if you zing'ed it, but at only 6700 RPM?

6,800 is redline and this is a stock motor (stock spec, minor mods).

Looks like the crank failed. There was one ARP rod bolt broken but, I think that happened during the explosion. I haven't seen one this bad in a while. Everything was destroyed inside including breaking the cam in half, dist.gear, dry sump gear, etc.

A new Scat (approved)cast crank is $850.
