Yea, Andy and I posted in off topic.

I hate seeing Porches win.

But, that being said, Bergy said that Jan slammed him in the final turn, and he did. As a driver, I would have done the same thing to win a pro race. Still sucks.

Jan had a faster car. The pass where he went on the pit road and got the penalty sucked for him too. Looked like he had a run going there and went left instead of right to make the pass which caused the penalty. But you can't say what should have been without being in the driver's seat.
Glad he's alright, had to be doing over 100 when he hit the wall.

Same thing with the 4 car getting caught up behind the Acura and the Porches in T2 and causing that wreck, looked like he got in there very hot and got supprised. Again, can't say much without being in the seat. T2's a bitch in traffic.

Prediction - Corvette takes the 2010 championship.

I like your prediction Bill! Do you think Gavin may have missed those carbon brakes and got caught short by Brabhams car. I watched the footage (over and over) and it looks like the Patrone car sees a gaggle of Porches taking up the road so he brakes or just lifts and here comes Gavin. It was real nice to see the GT class get some tv time. I'm not a big fan of the P1 cars. That last battle with Borg was intense! It's nice too see the team really racing again! Back when it was only team Corvette in GT1 they hardly got any tv coverage at all. Even with those results, best race I've seen in a while!

Yea, it was a good race, the outcome sucked.

I don't know what happened to Gavin, I'd think he'd know the brakes by now. It's easy to blink at those speeds and have something happen like that, it was definately a mistake.

T2 is one of the toughest corners in the world to try and figure out weither to go inside or outside. There is no "right way" in traffic. I've been thru that corner 500+ times and the only time I feel secure is when I'm alone or in a line with no chance of a pass by me or the guy behind me.

But that's what makes Laguna, Laguna.

Probably nothing that Katech can't solve.

Did you hear anything specific?

Katech no longer builds the motors. Displacement drops to 5.5 from 6.0. I'm not sure if they are still going to use the 7.0 block and destroke it more or not.

They also got called on the direct injection they were running

http://www.americanlemans.com/index_news.php?n=13860

Quote:
The GT2 Corvette C6.Rs are running with a revised engine specification at Petit Le Mans with port fuel injection instead of the direct injection used previously.

"We had homologated the GT2 Corvette C6.R with a 6.0-liter GM small-block V8 engine for 2008 until new rules go into effect next year," said Doug Fehan, Corvette Racing program manager. "Essentially the engine is a destroked version of the 7.0-liter GT1 engine, which had direct injection. While there is nothing in the rules that precludes direct injection, Corvette Racing was the only GT2 team using it. Some of the competitors expressed their concerns about that situation, and the sanctioning body requested that we remove the direct injection system. We agreed that if it was in the best interest of good racing and in the best interest of the series, we would honor that request.
