The wheel style used for most of the C4s existence. The early saw blades face forward. This means they catch air from the outside and drag it inside. The later wheels, 1990 on up, are mounted in opposite direction. These exhaust the hot air from the inside to the outside.

This stands for Small Block Chevrolet. The engine debuted in 1955 and remained largely unchanged until 1986. The initials are still used today to describe even modern day Chevrolet engines.

Both could be power, neither could be. However, if they are, they should move fore/aft and up down with little more than an electric motor whine. If there is a loud grinding noise, this is a $200.00 repair and requires either a new or rebuilt seat rail.

Also known as SMC. This is the stuff that all C4 Corvettes are made of. It’s similar to fiberglass, but much more durable. The only issue is with repair. SMC has a built in release agent, that means special glues and fillers are needed to bond to it.
