Hmmm. Same age as me. Us 'oldies' are still goodies. What was that Garth Brooks song again?

Look into the OBX mufflers. Good quality and sound at a very good price.

Good luck with the golfing. I couldn't shot golf with a 12 gauge. On a much better note our son should be here this evening. He has been out in NM training on the CV-22 Osprey as a flight engineer since the first of the year. He finished up the training last week and is heading back to his base in SC, so stopping here for a day or so on his way back. Definitely putting some miles on his new Mustang GT.

I went out and picked up another pallet of the Emerald Zoysia sod this morning, figuring I had the ground all prepped and all week to put it down. Instead it is all down already. Considering 1 1/2 hour round trip to pick it up, then unload it from the truck to the garden cart to haul it to the front hill, unload, tamp it down, then repeat it went very smoothly. But now my arms feel like they are ready to just fall off and the back is already hurting.

Just take a AAA card with free towing. By the time you pack it with all the 'emergency' stuff there won't be any room for clothes and such.

Take Lauren for a ride up the NE extension of the PA Turnpike, then imagine that ride quality for several days.
Take the trip, but take the C5 vert.

I got two more loads of dirt this morning and finished back filling the new retaining wall before it got hot. The rest of today is just rest and naps.

After reading everything above I think I will: 1. Find some pictures of my old bike. 2. Grab a cold beer or two.
3. Take 1 & 2 out to the garage and sit in the vette. 4. Make purring/roaring engine sounds. 5. Wait for the guys in the white suits with the jacket that ties in the back to show up.

Supposed to rain yesterday and today, but only got a very brief shower each day. Enough to wet the grass too much to mow, so I spent the time replacing a retaining wall beside the driveway. Just need some more fill dirt and to dig some steps into the bank beside it, then sod on top and that project will be done.

Don, you can get the bushings at any parts store. They are the exact same bushings Ford used in their window motors for many years.

Don, isn't Magnaflow covering that problem under a 'recall' type scenario? Also, for what it is worth I put the OBX catback (basically just mufflers) on my C4 before I sold it.
Good sound, good quality, and reasonable price, but made in hina.

I have seen various wood grain kits, but never one I would do. You could also get the trim done in carbon fiber if you want some 'bling'.

This morning I confirmed my suspicions that I am not, and never will be, a professional race car driver. I got up early and got to the Atlanta Motor Speedway to do the Mario Andretti driving experience before the rains moved in. This was driving an Indy type open wheel car with a Chevy 350ci engine at about 600 hp. I got on the track and found out very quickly that I could not hear the radio. Tried it, but pulled back into the pits and got the radio fixed, then back onto the track. I found out that I am really a terrible F1 driver, but I did enjoy the experience.

Possibly the color changes in 1982 were related to the forced change to base/clear coat paint.

Bilsteins are the factory set up, best and longest lasting. Stay away from Monroes (junk on a Vette). Some lie KYB, but I would still go with the Bilsteins. Tjey would have to be ordered as no one stocks them. If you have the magnetic ride control get ready to spend some serious money.

Don, he basically spent his combat pay on the car. He had engine mods done so it is about 470-475 hp at the crank. Then custom interior and exterior and some handling mods as well.

Andy... Is that a new Vette for you?

Yes, it was my son's. When he got back to the states after his last deployment he wanted a stick shift. He special ordered a 2013 MustangGT with all the factory performance items and we bought his vette. Plan was to sell it for him, or sell mine and keep his. Turned out I had a waiting list for mine before I even officially put it up for sale.
ps - we also moved to a new house recently

Just bring your yard to N. Georgia. I am using the Emerald Zoyzia since it will only need to be mowed a few times a year. Some of it I will be able to do with the riding mower. For the steep part I recently bought a 4 wheel drive rotary hand mower. Takes only slightly more than a half hour, not counting the trimming. It should not be hard to keep up with it. (I hope).

I just finished putting down another pallet of sod (171 pieces). Unload them from the truck to the garden cart behind the riding mower (or the ATV), then drive the part way down the hill in the left front of the house. I have about 12 pieces still to use up, probably on the hillside behind the house. But that will wait until tomorrow, I am thoroughly worn out now.

Don, I would bet the 315s are on the rear and 275s on front. Since 315s take an 11" wide rim, vs a 9.5 stock rim for the 275s I would bet someone in the past changed the rear rims. There are a lot of options for the rims. I had the ZR1 wheels and liked them, others like the Z06 or custom wheels.

ZR1 replicas from OEWheels, polished al and clearcoated:

My morning involved an on-line lawn mower research, followed by a trip to HD, Ace, and Lowes. I came home about $500 poorer, but with a 4 wheel drive Husquavarna. Got it all set up and mowed the entire front yard in about a half hour. Since there are still 'joints' in a lot of the sod pieces it had a little difficulty a couple times, but over all I think it did an excellent job. That and the big Honda engine started on the very first pull everytime. I think this one is a keeper.

Automatic spin reduction - or something like that. It is basic traction control for people with heavy right foot. If the rear wheels spin it will retard the timing and actually push the accelerator peddle back at your foot.

Getting hot and after all the rain it is very humid out there. I started early and finished the retaining wall out front before it got to hot. Spent the rest of the day running some errands and just plain relaxing.

If directions to your house include "Turn off the paved road." you just might be a redneck.

You can fix what that blue strap in the front is holding with a little bailing wire and duct tape.

Y'all can carry two bucks on that thing and bring them back from out yonder.

Have fun Andy.

Tommy, actually the paved road ends at my place. Right at my first driveway (I have two drives) the public road ends. Then at my second driveway there is no more road, just two neighbors and my driveway, not even any sign of when the road was dirt and went on past us.

The little blue strap says Yamaha on one side and winch on the other. I am still going to take it slow in learning how to drive it on the hills.

Matt. When we lived in NE Ohio I took care of our swimming pool all summer, but I only got in once. I still remember August 12 as the only day of summer that year. Tired of the snow and long dreary winters that was our last summer in Ohio, by February we were moved to GA. It was also the year the Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore and got renamed the Ravens.

I am building a retaining wall on the front yard in order to create a terrace. Not easy digging thru all the rocks to plant the supports, but I got up early and got the last two supports in already.

Next project is to go pick up the Yahama Grizzly I bought last night. Bringing it home and learning how to use it is my only other project for today.

He needs to paint his house, maybe fix his shed, and a little lawn maintenance wouldn't hurt.

I just finished up another pallet of sod. Now my back is hurting, but no surprise there. I put most of it in the area I had dug and prepared in the front yard, but saved a good bit of it to plug on the hillside behind the house. So about twenty trips up and down three stories of steps and that is finally done (for now). Better to carry it down than up.

I just got a quote from NCM for 2 cars, underwritten by none other than American Modern. Rates are half what I pay State Farm. If I had a 3 car garage built it would damn near pay for itself.

Enclose the carport?
