Good mornng gang.

Another hot one today. Looks like we should be cooling off here over the weekend.

Word of the Day Thursday, July 18, 2013

poetaster\ POH-it-as-ter \, noun;

1. an inferior poet; a writer of indifferent verse.

Origin:

Poetaster entered English in the late 1500s. It is a combination of the word poet and the rarely used Latin suffix -aster which denotes something that imperfectly resembles or mimics the true thing.

Morning guys...Warming up here after several days cooler than normal. It'll be in the 100's next week. Still have a few jobs to take care of. The list seems to be never ending.

Have a great day Gurus.

Guder Mariye!

Another hot one here, too. It's supposed to storm tonight and then cool off a bit. We'll see if the weather geniuses really have their finger on the pulse. I left the Vette in the garage today - not all that fun to drive in this heat, too hot to pop the top or drive with the windows down. Meanwhile, I'm keeping tabs on the British Open.

Have a good day, Gurus!

Got Old Green back the other day after getting the new engine installed and it worked well for that first day....went to start it up to go downtown Monday and it was going to peg the needle on the temp gauge. I quick turned the heat on high and got it back to the garage where we had the work done and they put in a new thermostat (another new one) and the dam thing still will not open when it should....they think something is screwed up in the intake manifold now.......with water going where it shouldn't.....

Nothing else going on except work......be cool Guru's....

Hot here, as well. No Vette driving to work/home because it's so hot and I still need to sort out my idle and brake booster issues. Always something.

Hope everyone has a great day!

A former Sergeant in the Marine Corps took a new job as a high school teacher. Just before the school year started, he injured his back.

He was required to wear a plaster cast around the upper part of his body. Fortunately, the cast fit under his shirt and wasn't noticeable.

On the first day of class, he found himself assigned to the toughest students in the school. The smart punks, having already heard the new teacher was a former Marine, were leery of him and he knew they would be testing his discipline in the classroom.

Walking confidently into the rowdy classroom, the new teacher opened the window wide and sat down at his desk. When a strong breeze made his tie flap, he picked up a stapler and stapled the tie to his chest.

Dead silence... the rest of the year went very smoothly.

Hotter than the surface of the sun here... 105+ head index, and with our humidity it's insane....Glad I'm indoors today. Planned a pool lounging day tomorrow but got asked to help out elsewhere. Gym after work today in this heat should be loads of fun.
