Managed to get 7 hours sleep so I should be good to go for the day. Starting off a little slow as usual. I have to drop off my suit at the cleaners and I'm thinking about going to HF and slide my card on a few items up there. Then there are a couple of hundred things I need to work on around here. My guess is I'll have a full day. Enjoy your day boyz and girlz.

I'm stunned that you own a suit Tommy....very nice...Pics?

I have a nice suit that I have worn to a couple of funerals....I don't like it.....the suit or the funerals....

Rained last night which is good but am wanting it to dry up a bit so I can mow and trim....have to start keeping things up now that we are going to have neighbors to try and keep up with.....maybe they will own Corvettes like all of Bills neighbors.....that would be fun....

I am digging out the Harley today and getting it up and running for the season....oil change and battery tending and basic clean up....fun stuff....

Let's roll Guru's....got domestic chores today.....

I have one black suit. I wear it for anything that requires a suit. I'm not a suit guy. I'm more of a pocket t-shirt and jeans shorts man with hat and sunglasses as needed. Shorts are what I wear 9-10 months out of the year. In Florida there are some guys that don't even own a pair of pants. They just throw on a jacket or waist length coat when it gets cold.

I looked for a suit pic. They're hard to find.

There's only one other Corvette on my street and it's also under restoration. But there's only 8 houses on my street.

My big job today will be how to get a 68 foot rig turned around after we pull the racecar out of it.

At least the trailer has a lift gate.

I wore suits for 25 years, usually 3 piece. Then the business world went casual and I bought 100 pairs of Dockers.

Since I quit working, the number of times I've been in a suit or wore Dockers khaki's is......0.

I hate Dockers.

Morning guys...I'm out to swap positions of the Caddy and the Vette. I need to load things up in the Vette as well and top off the tank.

I don't own a suit....two tuxedos, but no suit. This afternoon, I am reader at the wedding of the daughter of a close friend (and former student, who still calls me Mr. Bachman after 32 years) and I'm wearing khakis, a nice shirt and a tie. No need to get all dressed up, that's the wedding party's job.

*yawn-stretch-yawn-stretch-jayzus what was that-stretch*

Howdy! It's gloomy out, perfect for sleeping in. If there was a U.S. Open for sleeping in, I'd be a contender. In the golf one, if Phil won I'd be happy for him, though I picked Justin Rose in our pool.

I don't miss the days of wearing a suit or sportcoat, either - they're only for weddings and funerals now. Here's a monkey suit pic from about 1987 - I'm 4th from the left:

My morning involved an on-line lawn mower research, followed by a trip to HD, Ace, and Lowes. I came home about $500 poorer, but with a 4 wheel drive Husquavarna. Got it all set up and mowed the entire front yard in about a half hour. Since there are still 'joints' in a lot of the sod pieces it had a little difficulty a couple times, but over all I think it did an excellent job. That and the big Honda engine started on the very first pull everytime. I think this one is a keeper.

My buddy showed with his Toy Hauler, guess if you have a lot of toys, you need a trailer with 2 car lifts in it and a lift gate.

Now I have a boatload of work to do.

No still have the racecar & trailer. This is a job I took in to make money for Corvette parts.

Why that big a truck??? Because you can.
Maybe Julian wants to haul all his cool stuff at one time. He has an Ultima, a Superformance Ford GT 40 and a bunch of other stuff.

The only thing I haul is my ass outa bed in the mornings.

Fast car, would smoke a ZR1 bad, really bad on the track.

Happy Saturday to all,

I wore a suit and tie 32 years when I was teaching every day. I just wasn't comfortable without it. Now they only come out at weddings and funerals. There has been a lot more of the latter lately.

Speaking of new mowers, I splurged and bought a new rider. It is a zero turn radius. I've always had a cheapo tractor before. This time I got a Deere Z425 with a 48" deck. I do mow quite a bit of ground, probably about an acre and a half. At least it seems like it when I have to walk and mow. I getting older and slower.

Here is a picture of it. No, she didn't come with it.

Very rarely wear a suit to teach in the last 34 years.....but then again who would expect a "shop" teacher to? My normal attire is a polo or short sleeved shirt and blue jeans. Not many teachers can get away with that.

A shame the gal did't come with the mower ;-)

I've had a smaller Toro zero-turn for about 8 years, love it.

After today's inspections, Andy.......everything.
The trans came in a cardboard box with a lot of gearsets. I'll have to figure out a baseline ratio for each gear (1st thru 5th) and try to gear 5th for about 165mph after I figure out the rear end ratio.
The selector shaft that is supposed to come out of the trans case and attach to the shift linkage is 3/4 in. too long so I have to re-engineer the whole thing (the shift linkage is about 5 feet long).

All the aluminum covers under your legs have to come off to check the fire system and the clutch m/c which is under your knees.

The engine has about 1 hour on it but hasn't been run in 10 years so...oil the cyls, change the oil and somehow figure out how to pressurize the drysump system before initiam engine start.

Nut & bolt check on the entire car (luckily they are aircraft bolts).
Measure all the wishbone (a-arms) lengths, make sure the pushrods (from the wishbones to the coilovers) are the same length. Measure the rideheight at the belly pan.
Then set up the scales, add simulated driver weight and try to get the weight readings within 5 lb. on all 4 wheels.

And whatever else I find.
But, what the hell, I'm charging $50 per hour.

We have two Ariens Zoom 34 zero turns. One for the nurseries and 1 for the house. They have been good to us.

Nice toys. As an underpriviled luxury sportcar owner, I can appreciate the cars your friend has, Bill. Maybe there are some philanthopists out there that would like to donate some late model sportscars or high end boats to my cause. I would be happy to relieve them of their burden.

teebee. Get some interior shots and engine bay shots and you'll be ready for next years car show. That goes for you other guys too. Maybe we could accept photos taken after this recent car show.

Car looks great Tom, as does your new avatar.
