Man, busy morning already.......You guys have got it going. Ron, you're a better man than I. I think I would have kicked some a$$ and then taken names. Bill, get that stuff done so you can move on to more fun things to do...like plumbing. I think I'd rather do taxes. DLR hasn't aged too well, crap he's our (Tommy, Brad and I) age, I don't think I look that bad today....I didn't look like that when we were younger either....

I finished up the bathroom yesterday afternoon, only a couple other leaks to fix along the way. Everything dry this morning. I washed, buffed and sealed the Corvette and got the wife's DD all cleaned up as well. This morning I have been in the shop, building desktops for that office unit I have been working on. This afternoon I hope to get those finished up.

Don, don't you just hate stupid people and stupid drivers? Ron, nose pickers? Surely not. Marcus, get those farmers taken care of. Matt, can't relate to the epsom salts...never used them before. I hope you get your issue figured out. Jeff, I sure could have used your expertise, but I hate f@#*ing plumbing.

OK, I've got the vanity back in...with only a couple minor plumbing issues. Another packing nut I had to tighten and since I built the new vanity, kitchen counter height, I had to run up and get an extension for the drain. But so far, I've got the leaks taken care of. I pulled the doors down, took them out to the shop and sanded, stained and respray them. We bought new door handles, so I'll install those as soon as the doors are dry. Most of the tools are out of the bedroom now, things are getting back to "normal".

Good morning Smiling Bob......Tommy I hope you're smiling for the same reason . I was up late trying to put the bathroom back together...set the stool and carried in the vanity. As usual, my luck with plumbing when I reattached the supply line to the stool, it leaks, not bad, just an annoying little drip. I hate F@#*ing plumbing. It's just the packing around the stem, but it's about as tight as it can go. I'll watch it today. And after while I have the sink to attach, it's will probably leak too.....I hate F@#*ing plumbing.

You guys have a great day. Tommy, don't get snowed with that avalanche.

Evening guys....I made it home. Had a nice steak dinner with the wife and a nice drive in the Corvette. It drove so nice and we made 25.1 mpg on the trip. 84 degrees, wish I could have spent more time outside today. Supposed to be 80 again tomorrow, so I'll take some time and clean up "ole red". I will also put the bathroom back together. It will be nice to have that job done.

Sounds like everyone had a great Sunday. KU is playing and kicking some butt right now.

Good morning guys...I'm sore and stiff this morning, not used to that type of work. I'm leaving in about 5 minutes to head back to our hometown for a visit. Weather is supposed to be around 80 so we are taking the Corvette.

Better go get it out.....Have a great Sunday.

Hi guys...I was MIA today. I got up and started tearing the bath room apart. I got the underlayment down and then started laying out the tiles. Precut all the tiles and gathered up all the tile with ID # on them so I would know where they go, then put the glue down. While I was waiting fo rthe glue to tack I disassembled the old faucet and installed the new one. Then I was able to lay the tile. When I got that done it was time to get ready for a wedding of the son of some close friends. We just got back from that and now before I go to bed I'm going to grout.

Tomorrow we (the wife and I) will be headed back to our home town for the day. Then Monday I start putting cabinets back in and finish up that job.

I'll try to check in tomorrow evening.

Malwarebytes should take care of it. Although I had one the other day that I had to download a linux based bootable image and create a CD to get that one.

Morning guys....TGIF. Tommy you're busier than a one armed paper hanger. Brad, I'm glad that you are finally getting the Vette back where it belongs. Ron, those old Olivers are great machines, but like anything else, they need maintenance. Marcus, I'd be pissed about that header.

We have a wedding to go to tomorrow and a drive back to where we grew up on Sunday. I am going to tear our bathroom apart this week and put down new tile, a new vanity that I built. I took out the door and the trim last night and am refinishing it.

Good morning guys....wow lots of activity already this morning. The lists....very true and very funny. We better be able to laugh at ourselves or else things won't go to well for us.

Marcus, the reason they want to do away with shop classes is multi-fold; 1. It's hard if not impossible to find qualified teachers. Don't take that for "there aren't qualified people", there just aren't those licensed teachers. 2. We don't have to be here, we are not required by any state or federal mandate. Not to say what we teach isn't important, it's just that the State BOE and Federal Dept of Ed. don't think we are important. (dumb a$$holes) 3. It costs lots of money to keep a shop up and running, with finances the way they are, it's a money saving proposition (short term IMO, long term we are shooting ourselves in the foot, maybe both feet).

54 days, not that anyone is counting, well I can tell you RON IS COUNTING. Go for it Ron!

1 1/2 days until spring break. This school year is flying by we have 41 contract days left. Maybe my last 41 days as an educator too, the state legislature is looking to put a stop to double-dipping......oh well, if they do.

Well, I thought I hit the submit button, but apparently not...Ron covered the reasons.

Good morning guys...It's going to be a beautiful day in SW Kansas. Looking for 80 today and tomorrow. I slept pretty well last night. My memories of I Love Lucy are similar to Marcus', but we had to go over to a friends house to watch Bonanza in color. We didn't get a color TV until 1970.

I've decided to modify the table, and shorten the distance between the pedestals. I've decided that the legs are too far out towards the ends of the table. Oh well, no biggy. Spring break is lust around the corner, only 2 1/2 more days.

Not even close Matt. I found a couple pictures of two office units I built a few years back that was a TON of work, but one I'm very proud of.

Thanks guys, yes I do the pedestals and legs normally. I acquired this pedestal from a furniture store (it had some very slight damage), but the legs I make as well as everything else. Bill, the table top is in two halves 24" x 48" I use only five clamps to do the glue up. I think that I have a "couple" more clamps than you do.

Check out the back wall in this picture (and I've added quite a few more since then)

Marcus, if I could be assured of being able to build things full time, I wouldn't mess with it. I love building furniture, but most people want it "NOW", can't wait, and don't want to pay for hand built.

On another note, the little black spots on the bottom of the legs are the leveling feet. I just looked at those pictures and figured you guys might be wondering what they were.

Hey guys, I got a couple of pictures of the table I am building uploaded.

The top upside down fitting the apron.

The pedestal mounted to the slides and legs on one end.

The other two legs awaiting installation on pedestal

The table assembled, still needing routing of decorative edge.

I still have the two leaves to cut to size.

Good morning guys....Bill is on a roll! Maybe I'll send him $20 too. Weather is going to be into the upper 60's today and near 80 tomorrow. Great week to live in SW Kansas. I'm finishing up that dining room table. The people want to stain and finish it themselves....GREAT, I don't have to do it. I'll have some pictures later.

Need to get back and do a little work, later.

Hey guys...been a busy morning here. Matt, that sounds like something I'd do...no really. I had a call from an older couple yesterday to come over and do a few odd jobs. So when I got done, the lady asked how much she owed me...I said, "Nothing", "Oh, you can't come over here and do that work for nothing", I told them, "Watch me." and headed out the door. They were extremely grateful and she promised to make me a pie. And she makes great pie.

I am closing in on finishing an office unit I am building, just have the tops to build (Formica). I am also building a kitchen table for a former student's (adult night class) granddaughter. It's going to be a really nice 48" square (expands to 84") with two fixed pedestals. I'll take some pictures and post them in a day or two.

Weather here is looking up, upper 50's today and then 60's and 70's the rest of the week.

Got to go, student needs some help on a drawing.

Morning guys...St. Patty's day already, hard to believe. I'm up but no one else is. Much cooler here today, so I'll be working inside. I have some cabinets to shoot some finish on later. I've cleaned and treated the leather couch, chairs and ottoman. Got a light fixture that needs a new socket and a couple other things that need done around the house, so I have plenty to do.

You guys have a great Sunday.

Good Saturday morning guys....At least I hope Saturday is better than yesterday was. Let's just say it didn't go too well and I didn't sleep well last night.

I have lots to do today and plan on getting started right away. Work in the shop, moving a bunch of stuff from one storage place to another and then this afternoon I am a sponsor for one of my high school students being confirmed. The Bishop will be here so it's quite a big deal.

Well I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Good morning guys... Mojo to you and your wife Don. I hope that you both make it through as easy as possible. I have not heard anything yet about the tsunami and Hawaii. I hope that it doesn't do too much damage. At least with today's technologies we have ample notice for those areas farther away from the epicenter. Marcus, I plead the fifth when my wife insinuates things like that. Bill, I hate the hurry up and wait scenario. Like I have other things to do people get your arse in gear.

We are getting news from the state that says my retirement system is in deep water. there are going to cut benefits (I saw the first one last month and more to come). They are going to change lots of other things too, like not allow us to DD, so I may be out of a job next year. I see a class action lawsuit coming up. Apparently the state has not been adding to the retirement system as law required and that's the reason it is short. I'm pretty f*#@ing pissed about the whole deal. A year ago when I decided to retire, they told us everything was fine and we had nothing to worry about....never believe anything a government agency tells you. NEVER!

Good morning guys...It's warming up here, 43 now on the way to upper 50's. Chin up, Tommy and look for a silver lining in today. Don, not sure what to say to help you out, I'm not a facebook user, otherwise I do it.

Still have lots to do, so better get to it.

All I'll say is when I was a kid I had a terrible temper and got into lots of fights, over a multitude of obscure reasons. My temper is still with me, but I've learned to control it....most of the time.

Good morning guys...I'm up and at school a little early today. No kids here yet, so I have a minute to check in. We ended up with about 5" of wet snow. Wish it could have been more, we need the moisture. the great thing about March snow is, it won't be around that long, we are supposed to be in the upper 60's and low 70's by Friday. That's the way to get snow.

Well kids are starting to show up, I'll check back in later. have a good day.

Matt, I think those brake rotors are zinc coated and they stay looking like that. Mine looked just like that after three years.

Afternoon guys...it's been a busy day, again. I'm looking forward to spring break. I have a ton of work to do and only a few hours a day to get all the "extras" done. It's cold here today, below freezing and wind blowing 20+mph.

Ron, fill out the paper work and give them the "shove it" gesture. We have a mexican food place that does that too me. Usually in less than an hour. Yogurt doesn't do that to me though, and I eat the stuff that's supposed to. :shrug Welcome back to reality Brad.

Had a nice drive in the Corvette yesterday 2 1/2 hours up and 2 1/2 back, with time for a nap while the wife went to the bridal shower.

Evening guys....I left early to go with the wife to attend the bridal shower. It was nice enough to take the Corvette. So I had a nice drive in the Corvette.

Good morning guys...I was up late working on a computer, so I slept in a bit. I have some things to do today, just not sure I'm going to do them. Tomorrow I was supposed to help with a men's group thing, but it got canceled, so I am going back where we grew up with the wife. We have a niece getting married in June and they are having a shower for her. I'll spend some time with my BIL. If the weather is supposed to be decent, I think we'll take the Corvette.

It's been very quiet around here lately, I wonder where everyone is?

I like the nostalgia look Don. But they will only be good IF they clear the rockers.

I remember them from back in the day, they were a cool car to see running around the race track. ABC Wide World of Sports.

Morning guys...I hope that it slows down a bit here at school....it's cutting into my internet time. Cold again today, not as cold as it could be, but dampness and wind make it feel much colder. The kids are actually pretty good so far today. I have several things to get done over the weekend, so I'm getting my plan together.

Morning Guys...I've been a busy little beaver today. But I now have a planning period to relax a bit. I'm glad to hear the engine is making headway Don. Matt sounds like you better get your rear in gear, springtime is coming. Tommy, there's always something.....Bill, isn't it a biotch when that crap happens, you can't even plan to do anything else. Hopefully you had other things to do while waiting.

Well, the news from the taxman wasn't good, we owe, quite a bit. And our quarterly payments go up next year. What a crock. I also get notice that my retirement benefit is going down...state doesn't have the cash flow so they are cutting back. Again, WHAT A CROCK. The state legislature is considering not allowing certified staff from double dipping....which if they do I'll be done teaching and have to look for a real job, or try to expand my cabinetry business. I sure hope that the economic recovery that is being experienced on the coasts filters it's way back to the breadbasket soon.

Hey guys, I hope that you are having a great day... I really think that the weatherman has his head up his a$$. There is no way we are going to hit mid 50's today. As a matter of fact, they readjusted the high today from 55 to 28 about mid morning. What tools.....

Morning guys....I've been real busy again today. It's cold and we have freezing fog right now. It's supposed to clear off and get into the upper 50's later.

Marcus, you have a good time and enjoy the warmer weather down there in AZ. Matt, Tommy and Bill, Moderation and Administration is a job, just trying to keep track of what is going on is time consuming. Jeff, enjoy your day with the EX. Bill, isn't it a beatch? Buying what you think is quality, then finding out it's no better than other stuff out there. And we wonder why people buy stuff from China, India, Japan, Korea and a multitude of other places.

Mid 60's right now and it is beautiful out side. Too bad I can't figure a way out to hold my classes outside. After school I'm doing a brake job on the wife's daily driver. I drove it this weekend and when I step on the brakes, it nearly shakes you out of the car, warped rotors, I'm sure and it pulls to the right, so I'm guessing a caliper is dragging.

Taxes? Crap the accountant called and said it looks like we are going to be paying in........more. We already have the max taken out, make quarterly payments and on my retirement benefit I have additional amount taken out.....and we still pay in. What a crock of s*#t.

Good morning guys...I've been swamped this morning already. Kids working on plans and needing design guidance. Our girls lost in the first round b-ball game, so they are done. Boys play tonight, probably done after tonight.

Good morning guys...It kind of teed me off too when they shortened the race of the fuel classes, but I understand the "Why". As much as I have always enjoyed drag racing, the last several years have made it....I'm not sure how to say it, too commercialized? Just like Nascar, it's gotten away from the 'roots'. The cars are not anywhere near stock. They all look the same, they all have the same engines, there's no brand loyalty. I just can't get into Nascar and Professional Drag racing is getting to the same point. "The Snake" summed it up yesterday when he was talking about how it used to be, where he said that he built, maintained, drove and tuned all by himself.

Got to grade some papers....

Good morning guys....I just got up and my eyes aren't quite open yet and my brain isn't functioning. I have some work to do in the shop today.

We got an email from cousin the other day. She, her mom (my first cousin 's wife) and my aunt and uncle (my mom's only sibling and older brother), just moved back from Pahrump, NV about T-giving time. They had been living there because my cousin did better out there with his allergies. Well he up and died last fall (I told you guys about it). Well anyway in the email Friday it says that Aunty has some sort of tumor and has refused treatment (87 or 88 years old and has dementia). They are both moving to an assisted living facility as my uncle just won't be able to deal with Aunty. After she is gone, I'm afraid that my uncle won't be too far behind her. Been married for nearly 70 years, he won't know what to do without her.

I'm afraid that my black suit will be getting some use too, it's hell getting old.

Afternoon guys...We just got home from #2 GS b-ball tourney, they didn't win, but played well. When we left this morning it was cold, foggy and the roads were slick, right now it's 65 and pretty nice. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer yet.

Tommy glad to see you've made it back and glad to hear that your mother is doing well. Don, I used to do weddings....they are flat out a PITA, decent money, but a real pain and extremely stressful. Brad, better make that two for me... Marcus, doesn't someone else make headers for the L98? That's just totally uncalled for.
