Yes we have a Pamida and no they don't have anything that you need. The only thing that saved them is that Wal-Mart moved out to the interstate and is a bit of a run.

By the time I got done with everything, freight, having them trued, chrome centers and cover nuts, unmounting and mounting and balance it was just over $1000.00.

Wheel Chrome = $460
Freight & package = 267
Get wheels trued = 150 (they did 4 for the price of 2)
Chrome center caps and nuts = 135
Mount and dismount plus balance = 60
Total = $1072.00

So it looks reasonable going in but the extras can add up. Very good quality but took about 6 weeks. They said that was due to truing the wheels. I like them but did not save any by doing this and not going aftermarket.

Using the vast knowledge available to me from the Guru's I did some work to my 90 this winter. I bought the car in late August and put on tires and changed out the coolant and the trans fluid.

Here is a list of what I did this winter in the frozen tundra of Huskerland. I started with a complete tune up with plugs all the distributer parts and a new set of wires.
I took off all the air pump junk and capped the exaust manifold tubes.
I rerouted the coolant lines going into the Throttle body.
I opened up the airbox and put a screen over the opening.
I changed out the brake fluid which was some nasty looking stuff and the brakes work much better now.
Painted the brake calipers and some other stuff. (I like to paint)
Replaced the front left Bose speaker but will put in new system when I am flush again.
Since I had the seat out I took it down and had the guy fix the bolster on the drivers side that was ripped.
I sent the stock wheels in and had them chromed and they look great in my humble opinion. They also made them run true. It did take less weights to balance them.

The one thing that I did that you will think is goofy is that I rerouted the output of the air pump into the air box using the scavenged parts from the air system I trashed. There is quite a bit of air moving out of the pump at speed and I thought let's just use that air. Think of it as a very weak and inefficient worthless power adder. I think it took at least a second off my time.

Took it out last night late when it was about 55 degrees and hit the on ramp on The 80 and let her eat. 110 in the blink of an eye and would have kept pulling to who knows what but those big trucks that were so far ahead were coming up fast. Smooth power and the faster I went the more it hunkered down Big smile on my face and the blood was pumping. Thanks to all the Guru's for their help and patience. Marc

When that happened to my pickup I had to replace everything on the AC due to shrapnal blowing all through the system when it froze up. I have a 99 Chevy stepside with 100K and the Compressor just started to rattle so I was told to put in a new one before it grenaded and not have to replace everything else.

Weather nice here for a change mid 50's and sunshine. Got back from Arizona last wednesday and had a great time. We never saw a cloud and the temps were in the 70's and 84 on the day before we left. Went to some Spring training games which the kid and I enjoyed while my wife explored the malls. Did not get to do the Bondurant thing but took a tour and were much impressed. There was a local club having an autocross while we were there and we watched it. All kinds of cars running and a variety of times. Corvettes ran the best times mostly 42 to 43 seconds then a Z06 came up and busted off a 40 second run which was cool.

Then it was back to work and bad weather. Nuts!

I am a Chevy guy and have XM in all the vehicles. I like the sports aspect of it and like the formats for the 40's 50's 60's music you can listen to. I like the fact that I can drive all over and never lose signal. I would not buy a car or truck without it, due to the fact that we live and work in the boonies where regular AM or FM can be hard to get or at least a station you want to listen to. I really like it on my Harley. I don't own an Ipod or even want to. I'm thinking FM radio is the one in trouble.

If I recall correctly, Chevy had done some tests in the later 60's that showed the best place to place the ram package was were the air stacked up at the base of the windshield. Thus we had cars that came out with cowel induction where the flapper opened up at the back of the hood to take advantage of the air stack.

I always thought it was more a sales gimmick than something that actually made a lot more power. But in the day we all wanted ram air. 442's in 67 had ram tube inlets where the 2nd headlight was mounted. Very cool we thought. Chevelles had the cowel induction. Mopars had various set ups. It was the stuff of legends!

I just used Ecklers kit on mine. I was happy with how it turned out. About 42 bucks I think. Very thick paint with the kit. Used the cleaner they provided and wire brush.

probably cost you a $125 to have them go through it and change oil and plug sharpen blades and such. Ahhh maybe 80 or 90 bucks. Cheaper than a new one.

Cool! I was wondering how they paid for all that until I read they had some govt. military contracts to help out.

Sorry, we are experiencing technical difficulties at this time due to operator error. Which may be due to his advanced age and the fact that he is still trying to get his reverb to work on his 8-track system. Your patience is appreciated. Thank you!

Jeez Tommy sounds like a subtle challange to me. I told my kids that they will be expected to carry me and put me in the vette and then carry me out when I tell them it's time. They were fine with it. They said no keys though. Hell I can hide some keys.

I am waiting for parts for my car so it is at a stand still. I took the drivers seat to the upholsterer to get the side bolster fixed and waiting on the wheels. Also stereo stuff. I did pull the Harley out and put the charger on it and will change oil and get it ready this week. Now I am getting pumped.

Have a good weekend!

If I ever caught someone keying one of my rides I would be the one in jail for aggravated assault and making terroristic threats against the low life's family.

I always park way out so no one messes with it. One time when I did that we came out and found someone had parked about 2 inches away from my drivers side door. There were no other cars around us. They thought they were being cute I'm sure. I had to get in on the passenger side and crawl over to get the car moved. Which isn't all that easy when you are 6'2" in the C3 we then owned. I then proceded to try and kick out their headlights and tailights. My wife was having a cow as I calmly went about my business. I could have got the job done if I had been wearing my Tony Lama's that day and not my tennis shoes. I was pissed, and they had not even hurt my car.

As I have mellowed in my old age I have come to regret a lot of those type actions. I realize though that there are still things that can get me fired up and that is when you purposfully hurt the stuff I have worked hard to get or do anything against my wife or kids. 0 tolerence

Take a look at www.flexfuelus.com they say that they can get you going with the stuff they sell. I always heard it took a stainless tank and lines to handle the corrosive nature of the product. Leno likes it and talks about it on his garage site.

I am running it in my Tahoe which is made for it and went from an overall 14.5 fuel avg. to about 12.5 avg. It cost me 2.14 vrs. 2.67 for E10 downtown.

Thanks for the info mike. I talked to them today and felt they were being honest. They said they would true all 4 wheels (they need to do that before they chrome them) and would only charge me for the 2 that were out the most. (the ones that had the stick on weights) So for $150 they said they would make them all good.

It's only money, I'll print some more if I run short. Just like the gov't.

My 90 is a no regrette Vette. The money was right and I like the way it looks and I can take my time to fix it like I want it. Since I took off the frisbee I'm thinking I'll be kicking some jacked up pickups ass when the light turns green.

I did notice that when I stripped them down to send in that two of them were heavily weighted with stick on weights on the inner part of the wheel. That may be how they are working on the road. It can be a problem I'm finding out on deep set tall wheels. Thanks for the input.

I recently sent my stock 90 wheels to California Chrome to have them chromed. I got a call today from them that said all 4 were out of round. 2 not so bad and 2 moderatly. I ask how that can be since they would spin up to 120 mph with out a problem. He said it just happens over time and they would be glad to fix them for 75 bucks a pop.

I told him I was on a budget and this whole deal was getting real close to what I could have bought a new set for. What is the Guru's take on fixing out of round wheels? Can these wheels be brought back if they are out of round and is this normal with aluminum wheels? Thanks

I sell farm chemicals when can I get to be a billionaire? He made his money producing generic chemicals under his own brand. As some of the products used by farmers came off label he started making them and selling them for half the cost or less. We sell several of his products.

He is not that rich only #799 of world billionairs and only ranked 105th out of the top 400 rich guys in the U.S. Light weight! Of course I would not mind being 401st on that list.

Aww, she just loved ya and wanted you to be safe. My mom was the same way and you can see how good we turned out. The first chance I got I bought a beat up old 250 Honda that I hid in friends shed and the rest is history. It helped make us who we are today.

I just changed my 90's plugs and went back with the AC plugs that are the stock plug. Everyone has their favorites I'm sure. Some have talked about NGK's. Drivers side went easy and the other side not so much. The 04 may be somewhat different but it's tight on the passenger side. I took a bunch of the air pump stuff off which may not be an option for you. It did get easier with a lot of that stuff out of the way. It would be a lot easier if I would cut off the heat tubes and weld the holes shut. Next year.

My plugs were gapped at .35 but may be different on your 04. A long handled ratchet helped a lot and a short chunk of rubber hose that I put the plug in one end helped me get the plug started on a couple of holes. I did everything from up top nothing from the bottom. Used some mech gloves which saved a lot of skin and it's cold in my shop. Also changed out all the plug wires. I don't have an opti so that part was easy for me.

Gas filter I had done when I had the tranny serviced.
