Using the vast knowledge available to me from the Guru's I did some work to my 90 this winter. I bought the car in late August and put on tires and changed out the coolant and the trans fluid.

Here is a list of what I did this winter in the frozen tundra of Huskerland. I started with a complete tune up with plugs all the distributer parts and a new set of wires.
I took off all the air pump junk and capped the exaust manifold tubes.
I rerouted the coolant lines going into the Throttle body.
I opened up the airbox and put a screen over the opening.
I changed out the brake fluid which was some nasty looking stuff and the brakes work much better now.
Painted the brake calipers and some other stuff. (I like to paint)
Replaced the front left Bose speaker but will put in new system when I am flush again.
Since I had the seat out I took it down and had the guy fix the bolster on the drivers side that was ripped.
I sent the stock wheels in and had them chromed and they look great in my humble opinion. They also made them run true. It did take less weights to balance them.

The one thing that I did that you will think is goofy is that I rerouted the output of the air pump into the air box using the scavenged parts from the air system I trashed. There is quite a bit of air moving out of the pump at speed and I thought let's just use that air. Think of it as a very weak and inefficient worthless power adder. I think it took at least a second off my time.

Took it out last night late when it was about 55 degrees and hit the on ramp on The 80 and let her eat. 110 in the blink of an eye and would have kept pulling to who knows what but those big trucks that were so far ahead were coming up fast. Smooth power and the faster I went the more it hunkered down Big smile on my face and the blood was pumping. Thanks to all the Guru's for their help and patience. Marc

That looks great. Nice work! You should bring it down to the Corvette cup here in Columbia Mo on April 10th. It would be a nice road trip. We have several Guru members attending. Again, great work on the '90..........!

Sound like some great winter projects! And the wheels turned out great.

As far as the air pump routing, did you run the tubes before or after the maf?

Holy shit man, I haven't seen a Pamida since I moved out of Montana in 1999. That brings back some memories, lol.

Can I ask what you paid to get the wheels re-chromed?

Yes we have a Pamida and no they don't have anything that you need. The only thing that saved them is that Wal-Mart moved out to the interstate and is a bit of a run.

By the time I got done with everything, freight, having them trued, chrome centers and cover nuts, unmounting and mounting and balance it was just over $1000.00.

Wheel Chrome = $460
Freight & package = 267
Get wheels trued = 150 (they did 4 for the price of 2)
Chrome center caps and nuts = 135
Mount and dismount plus balance = 60
Total = $1072.00

So it looks reasonable going in but the extras can add up. Very good quality but took about 6 weeks. They said that was due to truing the wheels. I like them but did not save any by doing this and not going aftermarket.
