Hit 32 today in VT, Rumor has it we're going to be close to 38 tomorrow. I think I can see the light @ the end of the tunnel and spring is on its way. I unfortunately wont be able to take my car out until after mud season. My garage sits way back from the street and the Zoning laws in my town wouldn't allow me to put in a second driveway.

I'm sorry about your day. I live in Vermont and I haven't found a Corvette club here. I have Brian a Guru member who lives about 30 miles south from me. he has been a great help and I'm very fortunate he's so close.

I hope your day gets better,

I finally figured out why I never receive email notifications from the guru site. I've never updated my email from when I first joined, which is long out dated. I go to edit my account and I can change everything but my email addy.

Any insight would be great ,

Thanks for the help and insight guys. I went to the auto place and got some Mequiars #2 Fine-cut cleaner, #9 Swirl Remover and #7 Show car glaze. I already have some #26 wax so i'll finish up with that.

Thanks angains for all the tips and not using the paint claener will save me some time .

I just got a Porter-cable 7424 and am wondering if I can polish my car with-out taking the wax off first ( Washing it with dawn ). I live in Vermont and am unable to wash it @ this time. I just clayed the car and hand polished ( didn't do much ) and put two coats of wax on it about 6 weeks ago. I'm wondering if I can just use some quick detailer on it to get rid of the fine dust that has settled on it, then start polishing it. This is my first attempt at detailing with a polisher so and insight would be great.

Thanks in advance ,
Rob

I did this about a month ago. The used one I bought from a forum member is working great. The job wasn't really that hard @ all. I just printed out the directions I found on this forum or forum X ( I forget which one ) and I used a Chilton's and factory service Manuel. I think it took a couple of hours, that's with me doing it, I'm slow and not anywheres near a mechanic. I did have to grab my 13 y/o son and his small hands to help me run some of the wires. if you have any questions just let me know ( as I just did it ).

Good-luck ,

Thanks for the help guys. I also researched it a bit on a c5 fourm and they run the Firestone 295 on the thin spokes. I guess the firestone WO 295 are about the same size as the goodyear 285.

I'm thinking about buy some painted c5 thin spoke from a forum member on X-site. The thin spoke are the 18x9.5 and 17x8.5 stock sizes. I just bought some fire-hawk wide oval tires from a fellow member that are size 255/45/17 which I think will work fine for the 17 x 8.5 front thin spokes. I just looked on Tirerack.com to see what 2 wide oval tires would cost me for the 18 x 9.5 rear thin spokes and it appears the only 18" Wide oval tires are a 295/35/18. I think that the 295/35 will be to big for the 18 x 9.5 rear thin spoke.

Am I correct that the rears are to big ?

Any knowledge on the above would be greatly appreciated ,

You should chat with / PM VTVette. I know he had his car all apart this summer and was showing me where there was still some of the insulation kit in the car. I guess he installed it a couple of years ago and since has taken most of it out. I forget why but assume he wasn't happy with it or it would still be in there. I have know idea what kind or style it was though .

Good-luck
