They are nothing really that special but they are perfect for a computer where you don't have the most room for a mouse or the best surface. Plus removing the red ball is very easy for cleaning and that also makes it better than a movable mouse.

The downside is scrolling. If you use a scroll mouse then you'll feel lost when you want to scroll a page up or down. I found out they make a new version that has a scroll wheel, and I plan to upgrade because scrolling has become very needed with today's online bulletins and forums.

That would make it hard for me. I'd be lost with out my scroll wheel. Thanks for the insight

Good deal with only having $5 into your system btw.

I love my Iphone, I get a bit of a discount ( 15-20%) because of where my wife works. It's still pricey though because myself, the wife and my son all have one. The son bought his phone and I paid for the service for him as a x-mas present.

Nope not yet. I'm in no huge hurry so if it takes awhile or doesn't happen that will be fine. I've been offered a few L98 cars but i really want to give a LT1 a try this time around. Sorry for taking so long to answer your question for you. For some reason i'm not getting a email when some-one post to the thread. I'll have to make sure I have the right email addy on file here.

Happy new year

I have had a decent response from it. I've had about 6-7 inquires some wondering if I would come down a bit on the $ needed and with the cars they were offering it was a good question (low mils LT4) but I'm not currently in the financial position to be able to do that. A few have just been to far away (Georgia and Florida). I figure I could meet some-one with in 10 hours from me (each owner traveling 5 hours). I've had a couple of owners contact me via PM/email; I've contacted them back and am awaiting a response. I've had two people that responded and there car's just wasn’t anything I was interested in at this time ( to much work needed or a early C4)I'm sure the right person will come along soon enough that wants a C5 and has some spare cash to go along with there C4. It’s a hard time of year for most to have spare funds hanging around and I understand that.

I am wondering if you are putting too many constraints on this deal.

If you get $6k cash, that removes 90% of the loan debt... the last $1k will go quickly.

Also, the distance issue... I would think as long as you had a weekend, take it.

Too many caveats and restrictions only make you look priggish...

Good points on both, I would be willing to travel more distance if need be. The xtra loot $ maybe a issue because I don't have the additional funds to pay of the note so the title could be released. Although I never put thought into taking out a new loan for lets say a 1000.00 on the a C4 to pay off the current note on the C5. I never looked at it that way lol.

That opens up allot more options and thanks for opening my eyes .

I just did a Autotrader search for a 2000 M6 in my area ( with in 300 miles) . The prices people want for these cars this time of year ( or any lol) is incredible. I dont think time of years matters to much for what i'm trying to do because the car I would be taking in would be worth less ( damn winter) also. The lowest price one was marked @ $16,995.00 and that was out of 13 of them forsale in my "area". So if I was going to set a price it sounds like the 16,500.00 would be fair.

Thanks again for the input , Rob

That's a really good idea. I'll do Autotrader search tomorrow to see what 2000's r going for ( or what there asking lol) within a distance of 300 miles of me and put a cash price accordingly.

Thanks for the input

I haven't really thought about the value of my car to tell ya the truth. i know I purchased it last Oct (2008) for around 16,000.00 and have put about 2000.00-3000.00 into it since I've owned it( Vararam, Cat-back, tires, Chuck cow tune, dynomat insulation, MGW shifter ( new style), C6 Sway-bars and Metal end-links, C6 Shocks and i'm sure theres more that I have forgotten. Value though is a good question that I really don't know the answer to. I guess I would have put more thought into that if i was looking to sell it out right but I'm not @ this time.

I don't want to go back and forth about this ( pissing match). I really enjoy the C5 but just really need to get rid of the loan do to my recent career change. I also enjoyed my C4 and owned it for many years. According to NADA i'm actually kinda close with the 7G. I do how ever realize that this is a mainly a C4 site ( a great one I must add) so value is in the eye of the beholder.

Depends on how crazy you want to get with the detailing. The PC is a great tool, for the hobbist. If you want to post some close up pictures of these swirls, and the marring, I would be glad to give you an idea of how nasty things are going to have to get.

As for purchasing of products (PADS), Autogeek.com, has some really great pads, at a decent price. I have used a few manufacturers including Hi-buff (cheapo), Meguiars, and now I found myself at home using Lake Country CCS Pads, although I don't know if they are optimum for a PC. Danase also has some top notch products, but if you want to order from them you will pay a premium. On the upside their customer service is top notch. If you have any issues with your products or need help with proper application Danase is quick to lend a helping hand. Good Luck with the project, don't be shy with posting before and afters.

Dan

Thanks and I might take you up on that ( in the detailing section of course ). The pictures might be kinda tuff cause my Kodak easy-share is old school and doesn't good close-up detailed photos. maybe Santa will hook me up lol.

thanks ,

Well the new car is going well. i installed a few things today. I did the rail savors, Cags delete, column lock bypass and put some screens on my fog light opening and brake lights. I have some screens for the fenders and rear but wanted to get in the house in the comfy recliner so I relax and watch the pats game. speaking of the Pats game , those Bills could F-up a wet dream couldn't they? All of the above installs went very smoothly accept for the fog light screens. The passenger side one doesn't fit that well ( teach me for buying them on Ebay) at all/ i read to use 3m tape or Velcro but don't really understand where I put it on. I'll have to research it a bit tonight.

My next project Is going to be detailing the car. I've never seen so many small scratches on swirl mark before. This car is definitely going to be a driver and not show. I gotta buy some new pads for the PC and polish before I can get started on that though. I wonder if theres a supporting vendor from this site i can purchase from to help the cause here.

Thanks for listening ,

I just recently ( Tuesday ) picked up my 2000 with 80,000 miles on it. I'm not happy with how my relationship ended but am happy with the C5 in general. I went from a L98 A4 to a 6 Speed LS1 and am in Ahh about the difference in power. I'm sure allot of it has to do with 6 speed to A4 but the difference is just incredible. I'm in love with 2nd, 3rd gear and 6th gear is nice for fuel economy ( I got 30 mpg on the 300 mile drive back from picking it up do to 6th gear. The C5 is loaded and the options are a very nice bonus ( HUD , memory seats and so on ). It does seem like the paint isn't as strong as it is on a C4. Its filled with fine scratches and swirls but I'm sure I can get the bulk of them out with the PC. I was also surprised with how much lighter every thing is ( door, hood and so on ). Its also allot easier to get in and out of. I was also worried about the higher miles ( 80,000 ) but wont be able to tell the effects of that until after the next few years. i know I've read post on forum X about members have 200-300 miles on there's.

Just a few things I have noticed so far and to sum it up i absolutely love the car. i kinda wish i would have made the move sooner.

A member from Forum X was kind enough to go and look it for me. It got a pretty good evaluation, as I expected it has a few things that need attention do to the age and mileage. I've already got a rental car lined up to go down tomorrow and pick it up. I'm going to drop the rental off down there and drive the Vette back. i'll let you guys know how everything goes.

Just spoke with the seller and have committed to buying and made arrangements to pick up on Tuesday. The car is about 300 miles away from me so I'm still looking for some-one to take a spin by and check it out though.

I think i've found a C5 near Hamden, Connecticut and was wondering if some-one from around there would go over and check it out for me. You don't need to have extensive C5 knowledge but just know about cars and Corvettes. Maybe take it for a drive and make try to make sure that there's no major issues with it. its a 2000 coupe with 78,000 miles on it.

Thanks in advance and I'll be more then happy to Paypal the person $50.00 for A nice dinner for them and the wife for taking the time to do it.

I know this should be in C5 but figured i'd get more hits and be able to find some-one close in the C4 section.

Thanks ,

Rob

Yep me neither but I would be interested to see it. I've found what looks to be a good LT4 collectors edition in mass but the wife hates the color. She enjoys the car as much as I do so I want to make sure its something she likes also. I Happen to really like the CE's so it unfortunate. I enjoy the hunt though so it should be fun. i only wish there we're more of them closer to me. Not many in Vermont.

check the LA area, I will be more than happy to inspect one here if you find something worth checking out.

Thanks and i appreciate it. I'm looking at something a bit closer to the new England area. If i find something with-in 200-300 miles i might be posting to see if some-one can take a look @ me.
