That sounds like my belts when I first crank them suckers up till they warm up a little.

Cover up your distributor and altinator with a plastic shopping bag. Avoid spraying electronics and wiring harnesses as much as possible. Use a degreaser and let it soak a little before you spray. Don't wash your car before you clean the engine compartment. Wash it after.

Here is what I was sent. Hope this helps.

The headlight housing cover is held onto the headlight drive housing by a couple of small torx head screws just under the headlight and a phillips head screw on each outside towards the rear. You can see them with the hood open. The headlight hood plate is held on by two bolts with 9 or 10mm heads just under the headlight cover, and a couple more at the back end under the headlight bulb. If you turn on the headlights and then at the midpoint of their swing open/out, push the knob back in just until the power to the lights stops, you can get at all of the screws and bolts. You can also use the manual motor screw on top of the headlight motors to manually rotate each headlight to the midway point.

You don't need to remove anything to make the adjustment. Just loosen the headlight hood plate cover bolts a bit and tweak the plate until it sits flush. This may take a few attempts to get it exactly right, as you have to close the headlights each time to check your results. It my be a bit frustrating to get it perfect, but once you do, you will probably never have to do it again, as replacing a burned out headlamp doesn't require removing the hood plate.

There are also two bump stops that can be adjusted that look like the ones for the hood. They are what stop the headlamp assembly when rotating. These may be all you need to adjust to make your covers fit flush.

Nice looking ride my friend! About those lights, for the time being you can manually open/close the lights with the knob located on top of the assembly with the hood open. At least you can have them both open or closed.

There was an article some time ago in "Corvette Fever" magazine about how sometimes it's not the motor but just the bushings/bearings that go bad. (they're plastic) If you go to manually move the light and hear/feel resistance this may be your problem. If you go to their website they might have it archived.

Good luck with the ride.

I seem to remember that too. And I also thought there's an exact fit cheaper alternative for those bushing/bearings from some other application too. I'll try to remember where I saw that...

If this car has the original headlight motors they don't have the bushings like in the article.

Real reason for reply is that color metalic bronze. It looks a lot like the color of my 85 but hard to tell from my computer.
