Andy, I'm gonna let you revote. We found the car that way. It was left to die under a tree. We just brought it back to life. I have the mechanical aptitude of a high school freshman. I work only on the easy stuff on all the cars. Thanks for your vote of confidence. I totally rely on the services of professionals.

I will let my vote for your vert stand. If anything the fact that you brought it back from near dead to what it is today is enough to earn my vote.

That goes without saying. The bonding has begun.

How many 'pup' chairs do you have? We have an older recliner that is used almost exclusively by our daughter's dog when she comes to visit. We call her our 'grand puppy'.

I would bet you could buy the panel from vette2vette.com. But if I remember what was behind the battery in my 95 it was more like 3 or 4 panels with several fuses each.

Haltech 'stinger' intake, engine 'done' by Vegeance Racing with VR3 cam and more goodies, 3000 stall convertor, Kooks long tube headers, high flow cats and then Bassini cat back exhaust, about 475 hp. ZR1 wheels and brakes, Bilstein sport shocks and C6Z06 sway bars. Interior upgrades include seat covers, double din with navigation, and some trim pieces.

Nice weather here. I started the day with digging out more rocks in preparation for another pallet of Emerald Zoysia.
Then as it started to get a bit hot I changed projects and pressure washed the lower level back porch. Since we have a total of 4 porches that only leaves one more to pressure wash. The porch off the solarium on the side of the house is going to get an all new deck, probably not until fall though.

I believe the 2.5 B&B is supposed to be quite a bit quieter than the 3" system. I like the deeper mellow tone of the B&B, but don't want it to be real loud. I had a Corsa system on it for a while and didn't care for it. I've seen the OBX (looks a lot like Corsa) but haven't heard a good clip of it - do you have any idea how it sounds compared to the Corsa?

The OBX is really a Chinese knock off of the Magnaflow system. 2.5" is a bit small for a stock LT4 which has a 2 3/4 from the factory, and 3" is a bit large for a stock LT4. For daily driving though I doubt you would ever feel and difference. Sorry I don't have any sound clips for you.

Good morning! Well, it is still morning, but I slept most of it away. Another dreary day here, cloudy and a balmy 56. A friend is putting in a paver patio this weekend - the weather has been ideal for that project, but not much good for anything else. We were going to try to BBQ today, but it is looking more like a George Foreman grill kinda day.

We went out to Fort Snelling cemetery yesterday - always a sobering experience to look out across the endless array of white stones.

I've been pondering an exhaust upgrade on my Vette - really hard to tell anything from videos. I was kind of leaning toward a 2.5" B&B system, but then came across a vid of a stock system where they replaced the resonator with an x-pipe. Maybe I'll give that a whirl - it sounded nice and would be much cheaper.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

If I understand the logic of the fusible link vs fuses correctly you can not replace a link with a fuse holder. The links are for something that will have a high draw for the first XX nanoseconds on start up. That will 'pop' a fuse when actually there is no problem, which is why they use the fusible link.

My wife and I are celebrating 36 years of marriage today. I started the day by picking up a pallet of sod and have a little over half of it put down. The rest of it will have to wait until tomorrow, time to get cleaned up ad relax now.

Thunderstorms started during the night and will continue about all day. Rain total will be between 3 and 6 inches, some localized small hail, but no tornadoes predicted. Don't think I will do any yardwork today.

33 ft lbs if I remember correctly. Another FYI - Advanced, Autozone, and NAPA here had the part wrong on the LT4. They get kept sending me LT1 gaskets and insisting that they were correct for the LT4. Wrong! LT4 is different.
Also at idle I could not see my leak, but once the engine was revved up it was very visible.

vette2vette.com might have a used one. That is a very unusual part to leak. Usually it is the rear of the intake manifold sealer, which in turn runs down by the oil filter.

The engine fan change requires reprograming the PCM, not a chip. It would also not cause any problems. Like Brad said, take it to an auto store for a free scan and see what the problem is.

Mid 70's with a light breeze here. I started my day doing more digging in the front yard. Getting rid of rocks (I have more rocks than dirt, or so it seems) and also the occasional small stump. I ran into one rock about the size of a VW, but since it will be covered by 6" of dirt I hope the grass will grown over it OK. Then I decided to do something else, so pressure washed the lattice work under the side porch, then went around and pressure washed the front porch and gutters. The front of the house is almost all stone but I gave it a quick bath as well. At least the first 4 pallets of sod I put down seems to be doing well, especially considering I could not roller it in like it is supposed to be.

We got about 3.5" of rain yesterday, and predictions for almost that much more by tomorrow afternoon. Obviously not working outside, so I painted two of the garage walls yesterday and going to finish up the rest of it today. Then when the weather clears up I have some sod to finish up.

We are in for 3 days of rain and flood warnings. Of course we don't have to worry about flooding, but I did want to finish the final few pieces of sod. Guess I need to find some in door projects.

Very windy with an occasional drizzle this morning, also 60* out side. I have been working on putting down another pallet of sod and almost done, but the few remaining pieces will have to wait until tomorrow. This is the fourth pallet and only about 6 more to go.

I bought a Troy Built 4 cycle weed whacker last year. Starts great and plenty of power. Just hope it lasts a long, long time.

Maybe the brackets could be adjusted some to compensate? I'm assuming that you've had your new weatherstripping compressed for a while with the solid top?

The weatherstripping in the targa top would be the ones to seal to the top of the window and should seal properly right away. If I remember correctly there are no bracket adjustments possible for the rear of a targa top, but I might be wrong on that.

That just doesn't look right. How is their warranty and customer service? Having an email record of your 'talk' with them is a good start in building a case if you need to.

Silly question - are you sure the dipstick is fully seated on the tube?

First unplug both horns, if fuse still blows then unplug the relay and see if the next fuse blows. A shorted relay would really be rare, but worth a quick test. If fuse stays good then hook up one of the horns and test. If fuse stays good unhook that horn and hook up the other one and test.

Matt - splash guards, not mudflaps. I put them on my C4 after I put the 315/35s on the back, especially helped after a track day.

I know 6.5 qts is correct. Maybe the previous owner can tell you what is going on with the dipstick.
