Got my brackets yesterday, couldn't be happier. I hope to get them put on in a couple weekends when I have time. Thanks again Jeff.

Matthew

BTW, I was also waiting for brackets since November, so when I saw them come up I jumped on them. Jeff wasn't trying to give anyone the shaft, it's just the way things worked out with the machine shop. You can't control everything.

I still use CF for the events/regional section because it's not too popular on here. Then again, there are some posts that are good for a laugh:

Thanks. That's not too hard. I'd like to learn more about C3s. It's always good to learn My wife likes the look of them, but I'll probably move to a C5 before a C3. Actually, I'll be sticking with the C4 for a while since we've got a baby on the way

You also don't want the rear calipers. They are a lot of modification/hassle to get them to work with the C4 parking brake, and most say they aren't much of an improvement anyway. The fronts are the ones that matter. On top of that you will need that bracket mentioned above.

I'm halfway into the process of doing mine - I'll have some pics once it's done. Not for a couple weeks, though.

I'm not a C3 owner, but I think it's too bad. There are a few C3s sitting in driveways where I work under piles of snow. One I can think of has a blue tarp over the t-tops and flat tires. I'd love to knock on the door and offer to buy one, but the wife says one vette is enough (although she loves it, too)

Well, first off, a police officer can write you a ticket for anything he reasonably believes in good faith to be in violation of the law. If you want to fight it in court, that's your right.

However, from searching your state's laws (I'm assuming you are still in North Carolina?) your approach is incorrect. In summary, according toChapter 20 § 20‑127 of NC law, if you have have a medical condition requiring tint, you must apply in writing to the Driver's Medical Evaluation Program and have your doctor fill out the appropriate form for that division. If approved, you will get a permit valid for 5 years to place in the lower left corner of your window between the tint and the window. If you don't have that sticker, it's a $200 fine.

Here's a link to your state laws:
http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/EnactedLe ... Chapter_20/GS_20-127.html

Good luck,

Matthew

Looks great! And it reminds me how lazy I am...lol. I have my new weatherstripping sitting in the box waiting for me to install it. I also have to paint my calipers for my c5 upgrade and some other little things. Carpet is on my list too, eventually. Let us know how the sound deadener is for you - I'd like some, too.

Good job again!

On my 89 it's under the DIC - I'm not sure on an 85. If I recall correctly it's a little black square. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

My battery was only one year old and was supposedly a top of the line one. But when batteries sit they can go bad. That's why my new battery (interstate) is on the charger anytime it's not being used.

I would pull it and take it to the auto parts store and have it load tested. Like I said, my old battery showed 12v on the meter, too, but it was no good.

Could be the light itself is bad, you could try swapping them. I had a problem after my headlight upgrade that the ds was dim and the ps was fine. I did everything including running new grounds. All the diagnostics for the wires seemed fine. Turned out my battery was bad. I would look into that, too. My battery was producing enough amps according to the multimeter, but once a load test was done it showed that it was shot.

Good luck,

Matthew

I am already at 90% value and I know they wont refinance me with a regular mortgage.

There are all kinds of mortgages out there. On my current house, my mortgage was $0 down 2 years ago and I refinanced it after one year to a loan with 90% equity. I have a small PMI, but oh well. My mortgage guy did it all, he's awesome, so you just have to find what fits. You might get a slightly higher rate if you have less equity, but it's out there. It is harder with all of the mortgage problems lately. Have you considered a home equity loan from the bank? They are usually a higher rate, but since you already have $10,000 to put in, it wouldn't hurt you too bad. And since it is a home improvement, the interest is tax deductible. Just a thought.

BTW, I just called my mortage guy last week to refinance because of the rate drop, though, and he told me that even though the fed has dropped rates 1.25 points in the last two weeks, mortgages didn't go down much! What is that? I guess it's business regulating itself without the government. Oh well. Good luck with that.

I am not an expert on this, but do you have a separate ground for your fog lights? On my 89 (which is different) I upgraded my headlights and had to run separate grounds for the fog lights because they were originally grounded through the high beams. I had the problem that when I used the fog lights there was a faint glow from my high beam indicator on the dash. From what I have read, they fixed this problem on the newer models by making the fog lights grounded separately from the factory. Perhaps with the new wiring setup this was changed? It's something to look in to, at least. Good luck and keep us posted.
