Tommy, what are you paying for votes? I can accept most major credit cards, but cash prefered.

Noid lights are on the Autozone free loaner tool list. There are two separate fuses (one for each bank) for the injectors.

Yes, the Gen II opti can be installed out of time. I know since I made that mistake myself once.

OK. One other question - Did you ask about the interst rate on the 15 yr? About 2.5% around here a few months ago.
It can't hurt to ask.
ps - Also watch out for an early payoff penalty on the 30 yr

Tommy, I love your post. But this is more like the back road enforcement in GA,
Resized Image

Speed limit on I-285 around Atlanta is 55, but traffic runs 70 or better, except for the rush hour parking lot that is.

We refinianced our home about 30 yrs ago and went to a 15 yr fixed rate mortage. The interest was a point or two lower than the 30 yr and the payments weren't that much higher. It was the best thing we ever did. The payments were fixed, so as our income grew it became a smaller percentage of our earnings. Then we haven't had a mortage for over fifteen years. Matt - ask what the payoff is for a 15 yr versus a 30 yr, I think you will be amazed.

I had a similiar problem with the Sumo 315s on the back when I had my C4. When I went to Nitto 555s, also 315/35/17, the problem went away. I always ran 30-32 psi all the way around. I just put it down to a cheap tire.

Morning All. A bit chilly here this morning, but the winds have died down. I have to shop just for a few 'stocking stuffers' today. Otherwise nothing I have to do, just whatever I decide I want to do.

Forecast for today was accurate - 68* in fact, followed be several rainy and chilly days. So I decided to get busy, or busier, today. Got six RR ties and added a second layer to a retaining wall - those suckers are really heavy. I cut two of them up to replace some steps down beside the house, the equivalent of 3 stories, but a lot easier carrying them down than up. Mixed a bunch of cement and formed a path to carry rainwater away from the house and loaded/unloaded 10 bags of top soil for the wife. Got it all done, now where did I put the bottle of Aleve?

Welcome. That is quite a history. Also the first time I ever heard of an $800 Corvette, even in 1969 that had to be a terrific buy.

Good morning. I have all my Christmas shopping done and wrapped. Waiting for the HVAC guy right now. We are having a mini-split installed for the downstairs. Hope it is a smart decision, certainly not a cheap one.

Be carefull with nitrous. Some insurance companies won't pay if you have an accident and they find you have nitrous, then some states have also made it illegal and can impound the car. Then it is also hard on the engine. Do you take it to the track often?

I had a camber brace and unlike Andy I did not like it. I couldn't tell any difference other that it made working on anything else on the front of the engine very difficult. Then when I went to an electric water pump it had to go.

But on the bushings I agree with Andy. Last I heard Corvette Recycling was selling NOS a arms with the factory rubber bushings and ball joints already in for not much more than the seperate parts will cost, you might want to check with them.

Yesterday it was 65* when I got up, this morning it is 37*. Last several weeks it has been in the high 60s or low 70s every day. This week it will be mid to high 50s, but still above freezing at night.

This is the OBD1 16 pin connector in 94-95 Corvettes, which is the same connector used when GM went to OBD2 in 1996. The 94 F-bodies Bogus is thinking about have the OBD1 ALDL, but that isn't relevent here.

It says 1990-1993, but 1994 should be really, REALLY, close.

You will need to refer to a different list of errors, because 1994 does have Sequential Injection, vs bank-to-bank that my 92 has.

Bogus - That will NOT work for 94-96 years. 94-95 are OBD1, but have the OBD2 ALDL. For the OBD2 ALDL in the 94-95s from top left count over 4 pins, ie the #4 pin, then the number 12 pin is directly below it. Here is the complete deal:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paper clip from pin 12 to ground (4 or 5 are both ground)

On a 94-96 you can check the codes with a paper clip as follows:

You short pin "12" to pin "4" and turn the ignition switch to "On" without starting the engine.

The speedometer will display any codes using the same protocol as the 1990-1993 model but there are some changes in the designation for the modules plus additional modules are added:

Module "1" is still the CCM module.

Module "4" is now called the PCM module (Powertrain Control Module) because automatic transmission computer control was added to Engine Control Module in 1994.

Module 7 (on the 1996 model only) is the RTD module. (This is the Real Time Dampening module which replaced the Selective Ride Control module in 1996).

Module 9 is the ABS/ASR module number from 1994 through 1996.
Finally, Module "A", the DERM (Dynamic Energy Control Module --- (the air bag control module) will be requested to show any codes.

Just like the 1990-1993 display, you read the codes on the speedometer (big) and read the module number on the trip odometer (small).

A series of dashed lines for instance “ - - -“ indicates no more stored codes for that module.

A code showing as “C12” for the CCM module (module #1) means no codes are stored. So C12 is a good thing to see.

Again, you can cause the codes to repeat by turning the ignition off for five seconds and then back on.

Turn the ignition off and remove the short to restore normal operation.

To clear the codes,

1. With ignition "off" ground terminal #12 of the DLC (use bent paper clip to connect pin 4 to pin 12)

2. Turn ignition "on".

3. Press trip/odo button on the DIC until 1.7 appears in the trip
monitor area of the instrument cluster.

4. Press eng/met button on the DIC & hold until "---" appears in the
speedometer area of the cluster, this will clear CCM DTC'S.

To clear PCM/ECM codes do the following:

1. Press the trip reset button on the DIC until the desired system is displayed. In this case it will be 4.0.

2. Press trip/odo button on the DIC until the desired diagnostic mode(4.7) is displayed on the trip monitor area of the cluster.

3. Press & hold the eng/met button on the DIC until "---" is
displayed in the speedometer area of the cluster, this will clear PCM codes.

To clear ABS/ASR codes do the following:

Same as above but you’re looking for “9.7” on the trip odo

And here are the codes

1994-1995: Diagnostic Trouble Codes
DTC #11: Malfunction Indicator Lamp Circuit.

You can take a paperclip and short out two of the pins on the ALDL and get the fault codes. I think I remember it being pins 4 to 12, but surely someone else will chime in shortly. This is the code list:

To bolt in a rollbar on a C5 you have to drop both fuel tanks. Makes it a lot more involved than a C4.

Well back safely, but I spent a good part of the day spinning. I was too busy/lazy to put my drag radials on and then spent the day wishing I had them on. The only thing I could do was take it easy and accordingly had poor times all day. All 60fts were about 2.2-2.4 and best ET was an 8.25 and best top end was about 94mph. Next time back will probably be in the spring and with the drag radials on for sure.

ps - 1/8th mile track and not well prepped today.

Yep, but just an 1/8th mile dragstrip and I keep the traction control on. With no rollbar I can't take it on the track at AMP, which sucks.

However, my daughter gave me a day at the Mario Andretti driving experience for my birthday, so that will be happening in the spring. Should be fun, fast and fun.

Go back to reply #11. But of course that doesn't account for moisture in the opti.

Sounds like the blend air door, or damper, isn't working. I never palyed with mine, but I understand you can see it by removing the controller on top of the evaporator housing on the motor side of the firewall, passenger side.

Oil pressure is unlikely the cause. Probably just isn't seated all the way.

Marcus, have any of the guys recieved recruitment offers from college or universities? Sure hope they have another good game and get to move on in the tournament.

My son was an avid soccer player and his club team won state twice, but few college offers. Soccer is just not well funded and very few sports scholarships available for soccer players. Slowly, very slowly, getting more interest for present and future players.

It would melt the nylon tubing. Maybe some header wrap?

Andy, where will you son be stationed? Pensacola?

Hurlburt Field, Ft Walton Beach after the 6 month OJT at
Kirtland AFB in NM. I think he lucked out. Guess he will be working with special forces and Navy seals, as long as he doesn't want to be one that is fine with us.

And hope Utra-boy has an ultra-good game.

Another beautiful 75* fall day here, but that is supposed to change over the weekend to high's in the mid sixties.

My daughter is on her way here to visit friends in Atlanta and spend some time with us.

My son is also on his way here. He graduated from his training class yesterday and got his wings. He is being assigned to flight engineer on the Osprey and will be based in Florida. But first he has to go to New Mexico for six months for his OJT. He will be putting a bunch of miles on his new Mustang.

The best way to find out is to get a paperclip and then see what codes it has set. There should be an "H" (history) code set.

It looks fast, very fast, just sitting still. The wheels really set it off.

Actually there is a railroad tie walk down to the lake, but it is all overgrown and mostly neglected. I am more concerned about getting my ATV path cut first.

Here is another picture, this time inside. It shows about half of the living room as the fireplace is actually in the center of the room. Then downstairs there is another room the same size for my man cave, even has a wet bar down there.

Actually it is a lake, can't show it all in the picture. Yes, we also have a little lake house on the bank of the lake. I really need a four wheel ATV to get up and down to the lake, very steep.

I think Pete will recommend the Vigilante, but don't go by my guess.

Look for the RPO codes on the sticker under the lid of the storage compartment behind the passenger seat.

Heard from our son over the last few days that he is being assigned to the USAF Osprey (CV22) and will be based in Florida after he completes all of his traing. Not sure that would be my first choice of planes, but he is very excited about it. Otherwise about worn out with getting moved into the new house.
