That'll do Central Coaster, Oh Hell yeah! Get your bad ass out there! and take it up Isham cyn. or Gohler wash. Still some good wheelin and senic trails. I been going for about four or five years and always have fun. Panamint Springs camp ground has hot showers, gas & a restaurant. There are senic trails suitable for SUV's and first timers. Of course if you need more there are the trails with a HIGH B/C quotient (Butt/Cringe) enough to snap a # 2 pencil (Ask me how I know)anyhoo check it out and maybe well see ya there in Nov. Black Jeep w Corvette Guru across the windshield.

What I meant by the bushings draining the battery was, that the motor was trying to return to it's original position when turned off and not quite getting there?
Or better yet when I disconnect the battery I can hear the motor shut down (clunk).
Ok then, I'm going into it this weekend, or maybe not?
I purchased some online tickets to the P/V Concours Corvette Corral next Sunday and going to brunch this Sunday.
I'll keep Ya'll posted when I do get in there.

I have a small leak at the fill connection, that gives me the same problem after awhile. Too lazy to fix it, besides it takes six months for it to leak out enough for the compressor to cycle.

Blade_1, thanks for the reply.
I'm having trouble cycling through the, coolant temp, odometer, trip odometer, trans. temp. etc. When I push the buttons nothing changes? Well actually the info. changes after a long time, or a day later. I have appx. 118,000 miles on it, it runs great. I think I have bad bushings in the driver side headlight that may be slowly draining the battery? I don't know if this could be a problem? I've read of some issues with the climate control that could be dealt with by cleaning the button contacts? could this be a similar problem?

I'm having trouble with the buttons that change mileage, gauges, re-set, etc. Is this a matter of cleaning contacts in the dash, like the climate control? Any ideas? I don't have a manual.

Yeah I found the contact parts and brush assembly, I'm rebuilding it myself as part of my hobby. I enjoy keeping it on the road and get a Hard-on when everything works! I've heard of alternator and waterpump rebuild kits too.

It takes alot of practise and patience...........alot! I managed to take out a few chips, and still need to fill a few more. It's not as easy as it looks, but I couldn't stand looking at all those chips on the black nose of my car. I figured that I couldn't make it look any worse, so in a nutshell it looks better.

Hey come on, I wax, we all wax. I have a Porter Cable, and Meguiars 3-step polish. Microfibers, LANGKA paint chip filler, silicone water blade. A good looking ride is incentive to do more mechanix on it. Looking to put some C-6 chromed wheels soon.

I mean suspension bottoming out, not actually impacting the pavement. It's a big thud, where you hop outa your seat depending on speed and depth of the hump.

cover everything you don't want brake fluid on, install a bias spring in before you install the MC, add speed bleeders, hoses, Hawk HPS pads and you'll love them brakes.

Well the consensus seems to be to replace the shocks. I purchased the KYB's about 12 months ago because the ones that were there had oil running down the tubes. I thought I'd get them till I could come up with a situation that called for better. I do have to say that before lowering the KYB's made a huge difference over the beat up old ones, and worked good before lowering. I enjoy the improved handling of a firm shock, but also want a nice freeway cruiser, so yeah I want best of both worlds. Any recommendations?
I'm thinking Summitt Racing, anyone got them beat price wise?

They are small humps on the freeway, the ones where you can see the oil spots in the lane. I'm considering raising it back up unless I can find a suitable fix. It rides and handles damn better, other than driving on the freway. Gots me a little concerned about losing control at high speed?

Around 80 mph and hit a small hump car bottoms out, still have control and no handling problems. Now, I have new KYB's till I find better, lowered bout 1". Will a new spring help, and after market higher rated spring, better shocks, coil overs? I only drive on weekends and would like to get her on the track.

I've never heard of that one, what are the symptoms?
If ya feel acrobatic you could remove the seat and rails. Lay on your back, and make sure you have a cell phone within reach.

Speaking of being in the right position??? ahhhh well nevermind that. It'll be good for a series that needs all the help it can muster, if, and I say "If" Castronieves tapped his brakes for just a bit???......... Well it would have been just another win for him, ho hum, so what. Danica wins and she made history!!!! and a shot in the arm for the series. After all it is just like any other entertainment ... isn't it?
I was at the LBGP this weekend and was looking at the braking systems on those cars, compared to F-1 they look weak, old technology. They were having a hard time finding drivers, Paul Tracy, Jimmy Vassar, kinda old aren't they?

I leave my tender on 24hrs a day while it's in the garage. I think I have a drain through the headlight motors that I haven't gotten too.I know where you're comming from, I disconnect the battery while I have my tender on.

OK sounds easy enough, hope to get her up and running by next weekend. I was worried about screwing things up and having to bleed the ABS control. Which I can't do myself.

It's not warm, IT HOT during summer. Cools down to 105 at night. It's a bit Isolated, ever thought of Kingman Arizona? or something in a mountain area? Big Bear is ok if you don't mind the snow for a month or two. If your into four wheeling both places have some good trails.

I just replaced, speed bleeders, SS brake hoses, and bled the brakes, I have the bias spring and was a little "Goosey" about opening up the MC. As i understand, I have to disassemble the proportioning valve to install the spring? Is this correct? Can I just bleed out the MC ? or do I have to do the whole system again? What did you use to pull the proportioning valve out of the MC? AND one more thing what size of a scoket do I need to remove the rear hubs? I only need a few more things to do before I get her on the track so that's all for now. Dam them brakes feel good so far, or maybe it's me, either way I'm happy.

Speaking of clocks, anyone seen the Death Clock? You enter your BD, and a few other statistics and it tells you the day & time you will die? Kinda creepy but it's great at parties!
