2015 Memorial Day Car Show Winner! Huskerland 14785 Posts Member since: 2009/9/12 19:16	Yesterday we honored one of our own who fell in combat in Afganistan. Lance Cpl Hunter Hogan 21 was killed while serving us and his Nation. He loved to rodeo and to hunt and fish...he will be missed. I rode with the Patriot Guard who was out in force, 70 to 80 Motorcycles. There were protestors but they were kept in containment on the court house lawn....Hunter died helping protect the right of free speech. There was a large crowd of citizens who stood around the parimiter with American Flags and were silent....also a lot of cops. The route from the Catholic Church to the Catholic cemetary is about 2 miles and goes right by the front of our house. Hunter was taken to his rest lead by a large group of horse riders and he was carried on an old wagon with his riderless horse being led behind and that was followed by about 300 cars. It was brutally hot but hundreds of folks if not thousands lined the route with flags flying to honor Hunter. The Harley crowd had gone ahead to set up the flag lines.....Harley and horses do not mix. At the end of Taps a lone P51 Mustang did a low passover and then up in full barrel roll as it climed out of sight. Did I mention it was 98 degrees.... God Bless America!

By no means am I a tree hugger, but we need to pull out from overseas and get our priorities straight. I won't go in to a political rant. It sounds like a very respectful ceremony for a fallen one. These protesters kill me, though, and I think they should be punched right in the face. Plan today is to run some errands, hit the store and pick up a few items. Hope everyone has a great day! And I'm not talking about becoming charmingly eccentric. I've already got that covered nine ways to Sunday. No, I'm talking about purposely emigrating to the land of lunacy. That special psychological zip code where The Ancient Laws of Behave Yourself no longer apply. My "reasoning" is simple. It takes a great deal of effort to sustain a conservative, trustworthy persona. Surrendering that effort would involve, from a Freudian perspective, a conscious dismantling of the super ego - that part of the psyche entrusted with enforcing parental and socially approved actions. And therein lies the allure of going full frontal wack-a-doodle. The constant energy required to pass as normal would suddenly become available for doing and saying whatever pleases me in the moment. Imagine it. The id and libido completely unbound by any and all moral or cultural restrictions. Hmm... Probably won't need the shrink anymore... might need a lawyer.

We are there to insulate the family from them.

In the middle of blasting, my expensive HF sandblaster got plugged up and had to be taken apart. Sand sure does stick to sweat. WTF do people go to the beach???

We got one of the last ones.... Ice maker was fixed with spare parts and is up and going...guess the C5 is safe for now....
