That's because he's failing to tell you that I updated him to tapered spacers as well. So everyone who has ever come back to me and asked for tapered spacers has gotten them. Quote:
Sure, I'll just keep adding cost to the kit. Brian sure wants me too. |

Well, I'd rather fix something I feel is wrong and not a have to worry about it.
The later cars have their own set of problems, but it doesn't matter since this I've never getting rid of this one. |

Exactly, and they don't match what you put in your cad drawing that you are criticizing. Anyhow, let us know when the new suspension kit from Cunningham Engineering Products is ready for market. Quote:

I grabbed some of the trailing arm bolts off the shelf and snapped this pic. One is a 1/2"-13 and the other is a 5/8"-11 Here is a blow up of the 5/8"-11 thread Here is another with a little better contrast with the background Where are the points? I see flats @ both the major diameter and the root diameter. |

No I had run out of stock by the time you wanted some but the only difference is the thickness, those are a standard thickness as opposed to the customized length for the C4s. What's the point? You still have tapered spacers and you chose to show the tubulars in your CAD model. Quote: BrianCunningham wrote:I've show this thread to all the other engineers in the department here. They all agree the way I did it is the way to do it. Just standard practice. It's a fine practice. Especially if you're putting something in flight, or into space, or building a one off special. But if I was doing any of those things I wouldn't buy something some from a vendor that I had spent a fair amount of time and posts touting early on just to turn around slap that vendor in the face after they had done you a favor by saying that the bolts they used on their product were all wrong and that I "want it done right". Especially after all the debate here indicates that it's probably not even the weakest link in the system. |

The rear knuckle mount would surely snap before anything else failed.
My 2nd bet for weakest link would be the stamped steel bracket tearing loose at the bolt holes. I've heard of people sliding into things and bending the factory dogbones also, but that wouldn't be an issue with these since they can't carry force in anything other than their axis, and have plenty of room for articulation. |

Brian, why do you post CAD models like that when you know they're not right? Below is a pic.
On the left is the original tubular spacer, on the lower right is the original BMS tapered spacer (cut specifically for C4 trailing arm brackets) and in the upper right is the off-the-shelf spacer I sent you because I didn't have enough of the BMS tapered and that part is obsolete so I don't have any more on order. I can provide CAD models as well if necessary. |

Quote: How can you even begin to argue that what is shown above and in the UR corner of the image below Are even close to this CAD model? Or do you disagree that the black spacers you show in your pic are the same as the ones in the UR corner of my pic? |
