I see that Car and Driver left out the Corvette for the first time in 8 years. They do not blame the performance but they hate the shabby interior and say you can get a world class driver invironment in cars for half the money. They are pissed GM can't put the whole package together. They say bring on the C7.

I like the interior in my 90 but it has a lot of plastic also. My favorite interiors were in my C2's and early C3's.

Question for C&D:

Do those cars for half the money with nice interiors top the vette in ANY performance category?

Don't forget to review some of the top 10 picks of years gone by. It would show what a cheap interior the C&D staff of the past has somehow never been able to overcome. There is plenty of good performance there too. Guess nothing is 100% perfect. Not even an internationally acclaimed magazine.

They seem to have a serious hardon for the Vette's interior.

To a degree, they are right, but to hate on it after all the improvements is verging on the petty.

But to get a minimal quality material and that is marginal interior, you have to shell out, 10k for the 4LT or 3LZ package?

If you want Corvette performance and a BMW interior, buy the damn 911 and quit bitchin'.

Chevy could've at least changed the steering wheel though. That was a huge red flag.

I believe that in the past it was determined the way that Corvette can put out an affordable product was by cutting back on things like the leather, etc in the interior. Then their are also weight considerations. They want to go light just as they do the rest of the vehicle while controlling costs. I'm not trying to defend Chevy just bringing up considerations. You can always customize you interior if your pockets are deep enough.

Agreed! Personally I don't have any problem with the C6 interior. I'm glad the budget went to the engineering and the performance of the C6 first and a Gucci interior second. For the price you can't beat the value of the C6 stacked up against any other sports car. JMHO...
