been going back and forth between v/c's for the last couple of years. the originals were a mess, paint comin off and so on. So I put on chrome ones but I didn't really completely like them and the were leaking oil too. So I finally just decided to send the originals out to get powder coated. I sent them to Gulf Coast Powder Coating in Brooksville, FL. They sandblasted and coated them in bright silver. The only problem is that the sandblasting really brought out the crappy casting that GM did.

Those both look great!
The stock covers were icky... they put this thick coat in them of soemthing that gave them the stucco finish. And when it starts to give up... yuck-o-rama. I love the silver finish. they look so sharp! The bronze are so sweet, too! I would think you need to black out the emblem and letters. But the theme is awesome!!!! |

Powder coating looks great on both accounts. And easy to keep clean, if you're into that

I used to powdercoat. When you want something to look extra shiny or if you are covering something with a lot of profile we used to preheat the part being powdercoated to point the powdercoat melts as it hits the part. this builds the amount of powder on the part and also smooths it out making it look much more shinny. The next time you need something powdercoated ask them if they will do this. This trick will make a night and day difference in how the part looks. Kind of like the difference in painting something and basecoat/clearcoating it. Good Luck Tim

didn't do the bolts. they were holding on the chrome covers I previously had on. Atomic Orange is a great color. Love it on the C6. Post up a pic or two so we can see it on the C4. |

Looks great. Nice choice on the black tt's to accent the black stripe. I hope to be able to do a project like that with my son when he gets ready to drive. |

This is my 4th car(i just turned 19) and am glad it was not my first. I surely would have wrapped it around a pole if it was my first. I have alot more respect for driving than I did in my first 6months of having my DL. Alot of tq is a handful for new drivers. Your son will cherish the memories. I went through teh usual anger of building a car from a pos and my dad was there with me. We ended up yelling at each other alot but the next night we were both back out tightening this or that. I never know how long he will be here since he has since cancer runs on his side of the family so I spend alot of time with him on his projects. |
