Well this guy only decorates one tree in his front yard, but it is a good one. It is here in Columbia, MO.

We went by and looked at that last weekend. Quite a site. He takes donations because it costs $6K a month to power that tree. His neighbors have also all tried to sue him because of the ungodly amount of traffic on those streets and the people that park in their lawns to stare at the tree.

Actually every year when they put that tree up they integrate LEDs. I don't remember the numbers but a good portion of it is already LED. It also takes a VERY LONG TIME to decorate that tree every year.

There are about 75,000 lights, which about half are LED now. They estimate 120hrs to put up, and 80hrs to take down.

Yowzahh, at $6K/mo they must be able to use the electric meter as a fan! Quite a sight, though - very cool!

I wonder how many electric meters he's replaced due to wearing them out! Beautiful though, but I bet it's a pain putting up all that stuff!
