There's a body shop in town that I use. The owner and I have an understanding, I'm patient, and he gives me a break. He had my car for about 3 weeks, he had a rush of business right after I took it in. I took it to him, I had 2 new rocker panels, but they were from a bronze car, mine is white. I also had an inner wheel well cover on the passenger side. The passenger side rocker was messed up, and the skirt had a hole that had been patched. I had 2 new outer window sweeps. And I wanted him to look at the lock actuator on the passenger side while he had the door apart for the sweeps. I also asked him to look at the lower bumper in the rear, it has some touch ups, and maybe paint it.

So, basically I supplied the parts, and wanted the rockers painted and replaced, sweeps, and wheel well.

He painted and replaced the rockers. Found some old style clips that were missing on my car. Put in the wheel well. Sweeps are in. For the actuator, he had one, and replaced it. For the rear bumper, he said putting more paint on it would be asking it to crack, and I should address it if I ever want to seriously paint the car, (the paint's good, doubt I will paint it anytime soon).

Total cost? $423. He didn't even charge for the actuator. I know these aren't big things, but I see those things every time I look at the car. When I saw it, he had just washed it, it was beautiful! The darn thing has never looked so good. It's times like this that make up for some of the other stuff you deal with having an old car.

I know I'm almost breaking a rule by not having pics!
It's raining today, I'll try to get some tomorrow.

I'm pretty fortunate with this guy. I think he gets a little kick out of helping me. Not sure if it's because he likes cars, or because he likes seeing someone slowly fix theirs up. He did say it looks better every time I bring it back!

It's amazing how that little stuff sticks out. It's a lot like home repair. I've done some jobs where there were minor flaws. The only way you could see them is if you looked for them. But everytime I would walk in the room, that flaw would jump out at me.

Same with those rockers and sweeps. It's like they were lit up with flashing lights.

I know I'm a bit crazy, but I dare say, most C4 owners are, in one way or another.

Nice! I like the hood stripes. I tell my kids to get through life you gotta know a good plumber and a mechanic you can trust and now I will also add a good body repair guy.

Thanks.

I was kind of luke warm to white when I bought it. It's really grown on me. I'd buy another white/red anytime. White/red has a kind of classic look to it.
