Just something that puzzles me…

has anyone tried the metric option on the in dash fuel information settings?.

I’ve noticed that when I use the ‘Inst’ setting on metric the mpg figure goes up when I press the accelerator and down when I’m ‘off throttle’… it’s the other way around when the setting is on ‘Eng’(lish) the later being more logical.

What's metric?

I've played around with it before but never noticed it going up when I accelerate....that's strange.

Yup. In metric, lower is better mileage.

yea... in Europe, there is a class of car that gets 3 litres per 100 kilometers.

That's like 70mpg.

Fuel economy is figured in liters of fuel per 100kms. I dont know what bright light came up with that approach, but that's what we're stuck with. In a nutshell, 6lt/100km is good fuel economy and 15lts/100km means your having too much fun! Blame it on Trudeau - he was in power when I was a kid and we switched to metric. Metric is mostly simple, you just caught one of the more goofy applications.
