My 11 y/o GMC Yukon still has plenty of life but I was thinking of selling it and buying one new to me. You know, a 2008-2010 used vehicle with 15 to 30k miles. New is nice but I hate getting clubbed with all the bs fees associated with new. I noticed the new ones I liked were usually in the 40 to 50 thousand dollar range. The used ones were pretty much in the 30 to 35 thousand dollar range. My current one is worth about $3500 tops. Well after checking here and checking there I once again decided that I'm too damn cheap to spend that kind of money on a truck and I'll just have to keep what I have and enjoy it. Having no payments can spoil you and even if I have to kick out a grand every now and then it's still a hell of a lot cheaper to keep her. Plus with an old one you can throw all kinds of stuff in it and you don't worry about staining a carpet or a light scratch here and there. By the way, my GMC has about 125000 miles on it. Still has lots to give.

Bring that Yukon down here. Trucks used to be plentiful here, but this is truck country and with the Cash for Clunkers mess they are all gone. Now if you want one, what used to cost $5k now is around $7 or $8k.....
I just got a Ford (shhhh don't tell anyone). It's 13, with 138,000 miles on it. Heck, with a vette that has 238,000 the truck seems almost like new. Actually it feels like it too. It has been treated well.

Yea, my 2000 Silverado - 135,000 mi. Total repair parts cost since I've had it - $180.00. Zero oil leaks, zero oil usuage. Never been in a shop.

I'll never buy new, you loose $10k driving it off the lot.

My 99 Silverado has 110K on it. I was thinking about upgrading to a newer one, but like you guys, there's nothing really wrong with mine, so I'm going to keep it, she's got lots of miles left in it.

It's crazy to buy new these days. Automobiles are better engineered, last longer (especially engines and drive trains) but prices fall faster than they ever have due to supply/demand fueled by the ability to manufacturer more vehicles than ever before.

Used all the way - plus if you can wrench the simple stuff yourself (fluid changes, brakes, shocks, wheel bearings, joints, etc) you're that much further ahead of the game.
