I am addicted to surfing the www.corvettetroubleshooting.com web site.
I stumbled across this nugget: Why do the 1988 to 1996 Corvette's fog lights go out when you turn the high beams on? This was due to a Pennsylvania state law that mandated this "safety" requirement. WTF?  |

It is illegal to have fog lights on with high beams in most if not all states of the US.

It was also illegal in Delaware.
I suepect vis is right... if anything, I thought it was a federal regulation. |

It's certainly a European legislation (fwiw) and it is a ticketing offense to drive with fogs on when there isn't any fog.

Did not know that. Interesting.
I usually use my fogs as running lights at dusk. I usually never have them on when the headlights are on. They are pretty useless for lighting. |
