Steve40th | UPDATE: Pray for my transmission, as the valve body just went back in. | ||

First, thanks to Pete for helping with the switches on the valve body. Vague ATSG and instructions etc.
I had to put another case filter in. Its a little cone shaped filter. One bolt for the pan was stripped. How do you strip a bolt pan is beyond me, its 9 ft/lbs of torque. There were a few other minor things that made me wonder if it was even worth finishing, such as dust in the pan. I have taken the pan off three times, and each and every time there was black dust i bottom of pan. Very few miles, not even 50 miles. Never smelt bad though. SO, she will get fluid and pan gasket tomorrow. And, if all goes well, I will drive her and finish the tune for the 42# injectors. |

Good luck! I've also had some dust in fluid and on the
bottom of the pan everytime when I took pan off. Even after only a few hundred miles. And the trans is still working two years after rebuild (knock on wood). |

Well, I found another stripped bolt for the pan. No biggie, getting more proficient every day.
Well, it did exactly as the builder said it would. Its like driving a regular transmission . But, the more throttle you give the harder it hits. Very smooth. Temps were around 180ish, with AC on and laser reader on pan and fluid with stick out. Hopefully I finally have a winner of a transmission in it. Now I need to wash it BADLY and finish the tune for new injectors. With these Bosch III injectors it fires right up, no throttling until it settles. Kinda nice. |
