Hi community,
since I'm a newbie on here I guess it's time to introduce my sweet little lady... After 1 year of rebuild, a complete paint job and a lot of tech stuff (backup cam, rear and front distance park assistant, dvd, tv, navi, etc..., I think it'll be OK to finally show it up now. Sincerely, Kay |

That is SWEET, Kay!
When I was in Holland last February, I was driving around Utrecht area and saw a young man driving a late model Chevy Camaro! I bet seeing your Vette in Germany is just as a shock to ppl. You need to update us on the audio upgrades! |

Nice 84 you have there Kay. Just wondering about the air cleaners you have on there. I would guess that you still have the crossfire injection due to the location of the air cleaners. Any problems with running those air cleaners? I would like to do something different than the big box on mine. I like your set up.

Hi X-Fire, you're right it's a crossfire with 2 Edelbrock Pro-Flo's on top. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-1002/ Those are reusable/ washable foam filters that save me a lot of money. Thanks, Kay |

Car looks great! Is the hood two-tone gray? Tell us more about the park-assist system you installed.

How was the installation for these? I know there is a couple of hose that go into the big box, what did you do with these? That price is really affordable and doable... Thanks, Dale |

I was using the orig. 2 mounting frames for each injector from the original air cleaner housing to get the chrome filters on. A hammer and a few screws were my best friends. The injector houses are fitting perfectly into the Pro Flo's. All the hoses got removed and kicked into trash. Also that ugly and unnecessary metal hose coming from the header. Simply plug the vacuum sources with a few gum caps and leave only the air compressor hose open. If you need further details just send me a PM and I could make a few snaps and send it to you. Sincerely, Kay |

Hi Matthew, it's just a darker silver tone in the middle of the hood. The parking sensor system is cheap and easy to install. You can get it here: http://www.tradestead.com/wholesale-u ... -audible-alarm_p3984.html I bought two systems, one for the front and one for the back-up. The front sensor system gets switch on manually by a micro switch mounted into the console and the backup system is triggered by the back-up light. I simply disassembled the distance LED display and mounted it behind the C4 driver information center. When it lights up it really looks factory style. Sincerely, Kay |

Kay - I would consider the air pump bypass kit... it will help you pick up about 5hp by removing the drag.
Also, have you done anything to the intake itself? It responds very nicely if you hog out the extra metal in the ports... it's like this... the intake ports are about half the size of the ports in the head... this means a little grinding and you have opened up a bucket load of free hp. |

Hi Andy, Yes, this would be the next step in improvements to remove that pump completely and to grind the intake ports. Will do this during the winter season. Do I need to buy a new gasket for the intake manifold or would it be OK with using only a high temp silicon sealer? Sincerely, Kay |

You will need gaskets for the intake to head joint. I use a spray on RTV called "The Right Stuff" by Permatex for sealing the walls front and back.
Another trick is to dimple the mating surfaces with a small drill bit, this gives the RTV something to bite into. Here in the states, the RTV is available in different colours, black, grey, copper. Copper is used around oil and is very good for this seal. If you cannot find either product, let me know and I will ship you a tube. The Right Stuff is pressurized, so it will have to go slow! For info on Permatex Copper: http://www.permatex.com/products/auto ... Silicone_Gasket_Maker.htm For info on The Right Stuff: http://www.permatex.com/products/Auto ... ht_Stuff_Gasket_Maker.htm I have had very good luck with both products. |

Sorry for the thread jack, but curious about the bypass kit, is that something that is legal in Cali? And about the intake cleaning out, has anyone done a thread on that, or a place to look that up? Kay very nice 84, hope to get my project looking as nice |
