The United States and allied forces have launched over 100 Tomahawk Cruise Missles in an attempt to stem the violence in Libya. Although the US has pledged that none of our ground forces will be used, it is almost assured a contingent of peacekeepers from EU nations will land in an effort to restore peace to the Libyan people.
Just for the sake of comparison I would like to present this hipocracy of entitlement. If there was an orginization in this country that were to rise up in arms against the institutions of local, state and federal government, would the United States government stand by and let the will of the dissenting group be displayed? Ya, right! First local police agencies would enforce ordinances in place to quell the disturbance, if overwhelmed the National Guard would be charged with restoring the peace. Should the units of the National Guard be overwhelmed (highly unlikely), American forces would shore up the defenses and use whatever force necessary to regain control. So this is my querry.
What makes a foreign dictatorship of a sovreign nation employing the same tactics as any democracy to insure the peace any different? Would innocent civilians not die in a domestic conflict where known vigilantes were established to carry out operations? He who has the biggest stick will win. It's more like a clash of hooligans.

Having a rebelious and non conformist nature and used to the smackdowns that come with such a lifestyle, I like to kick up some dirt every now and then. You think I'd have learned to just lay down. BUT NO! I just play dead till the boys with the sticks, tazers and guns go away, get up and throw some more stones , then run for cover.

The US will do what is needed too accomplish the mission. What is the mission? The mission is dictated by mission command. The missions mission is to accomplish the mission.

Politicians here in the USA will tell you that the US Govt is direct representation of the citizens and a dictatorship like Gaddafi's is just an opressive regeime bent on maintaining power at all cost with no care for the welfare of it's citizens.

Of course anyone with half a brain knows that elections in the US are rigged. Bought and paid for by the special interest group with the most time, effort and $$$. Heck before elections are even held, who is able to run for office is rigged by the Pubs and Dems... Citizens here ignore it because they are too caught up in their twitter account or whatever Charlie Sheen/LiLo/ect is doing this week.

In truth the difference between US and them is smaller than even I like to believe. Elected politicans here have nothing in common with regular people. They could give a crap if we are suffering as long as we keep on buying the BS they and their special interest group handlers are selling. A Gaddifi just tells his people how it's going to go down. Here they still tell us how it's going to go down... at least they still try and act like we can make a choice (even thou we really can not). That is the difference.

Were civil violence to break out in the USA (and it does all the time on various scales), it would go down much like you suspect. Local and state police would be the front line. If things get further out of hand, they call in the State National Guards. If that still can't keep the people in their place, then call out the military (ala civil war).

Tommy - Your going to get me on a watch list.

It's all good! Kahdafi needs to have his ass kicked and we are just the ones to do it. I love to watch those cruise missles take off. If he was responsible for flight 103 then why hasn't he been brought to justice way before this.

I don't know maybe oil has something to do with it.

Wow, I sound like an extreme right wing hawk, when really I just wonder, can't we all just get along!

I was just wondering if we fly in the no fly zone to enforce the no fly zone.

There you go.

After, looking at worksheets, fill in line 30, take 1/2 of that figure and put it on line 697, take 85% of the difference of line 697 and line 3, Is line 3 smaller than line 556?

Feekin' Idiots.
