I know at least one member here is running a centrifigal sc.

My question are:
Do I need a reverse rotation on my 85?
will the pb600 support 750rwhp?
Can the sc fit easily where the air pump used to go?

thanks

The only one I can answer, or even partially answer, is #3.

I don't think it will fit where the air pump was. The blowers for L98s came with rerouted everything, and IIRC, the blower was mounted so the pulley FACED the engine.

Tommy has a blown L98, I am sure he can help a little.

I plan on fabbing up my own routing with my custom hood so would just be buying the HU. Just want to make sure I will be buying the right one for what I want to do.

Thanks bogus

Procharger has the P600B listed as supporting 775hp. The picture looks like you turn the alternator around to make the room for the head unit. That unit is also reversable. I would call Procharger, they are very helpful. Here is a link for specs.

Looks like the P1sc-1 is what I would be better off going with. Just incase I want to grow a lil.

Another question:

Belt slip issues with the 6 rib? How about the 8rib?

Wonder if the LT1 kit would work on a L98. It looks much nicer than the L98

L-98 mounting options are extremely limited. Every one I've seen has been mounted with the alternator reversed, unit on the drivers side. My intercoolers are located at the front of the wheel wells where the radiator overflow and air canister were. Tech support and questions are readily answered by ProCharger techs at the website and possibly by phone. I didn't mount my system but if you need pics of anything let me know.

I am going to use the P-1sc. I like that it has a self contained oil system and doesn't have to be plumbed into the engine oil. That one isn't listed for the l98, but should be able to use it. I have asked Procharger on the belt slip issue. They said they dont' have issues with it. As Tommy said their tech is really helpful. I have asked several questions myself.

Thanks tommy.

What do your IAT look like on a 80-100* day?
What is mounted in the stock airbox location? oilcooler? transcooler?

Seems like all the kits are for speed density correct? No more crappy maf

Never checked IAT. The metal container mounted in front of the airbox is is the relocated coolant overflow.

What is a realistic cost total for a SC mounted on an L98?

Also, I have 430rwhp/460/rwtq, what RWHP could I see realistically with a minimal 8-psi boost? 25%. 30% ?

A cam change will be in order for a centi sc and a 406 with 8lbs should easily make 550+ rwhp

What's your compression ratio?

Cast or forged pistons?

I wont be putting it on this 383.

I have another block sitting. will build it all forged. 9.3-9.6 cr depending on the heads I decide to put on it.

Figure with the right cam and some TEA heads I can beak 500rwhp on 5-6lbs and 600 on 12lbs

Sounds like a good plan

A good blower cam is a must
As well as finding someone that can tune it

Turns out the p1sc is a no go. D1sc is gonna be my line of action.

I have a great local tuner. Just hope the stock cpu can handle it.

Thanks guys for the help, I am going to shop for a Bow Tie block, use my forged 406 parts, probably will change the rods, get the cam that Pro Charger suggests, build the block and rotating assy rock solid, and go for 8-10 psi boost.

I drove 5-hours each way to the Hot Rod Power Tour Thursday/Friday and I saw a lot of craapped out cars on the way, I was pretty happy that my car took the trip with ease, and I was getting 40MPG with my TKO 600 at 70 MPH / 2100RPM

My goal will be to have a dependable setup with out dinking around with it constantly.

What type of maintenance is there on these Superchargers?

Procharger has two options. Self contained or plumbed into the engine oil. I prefer the self contained, you don't have added lines. Plus added heat from the unit. I think it takes about 1/2 hour to change the oil in them.

As long as you don't go crazy with the amount of boost, or push it to the extreme you will be fine. For my LT1 I am going for 9-9.5cr w/ 10-12psi. Procharger has it running 8psi on 10.5cr. The cam is very mild (basically stock numbers) if ran by itself.
