First let me say I'm sorry that a teen lost their life for no good apparent reason. From there the story is nuts. The shooting happened NEAR a cememtary ..... So what. Probably happened NEAR a church, a school and a liquor store. Putting a security guard in a cemetary? For what? To protect the dead from getting shot? Put up security cameras. Catch the perps NEAR the cemetary and the any grave robbers that may wander through while your at it. Some people would put security guards everywhere. Protect the corn. Get a security guard. I'd be OK with it if the guard had a gun and shot first, asked questions later. IMO there are several million people in this country that could use a one way trip to the cemetary.
Aw-oh! I'm starting to sound like ............ Attach file: you are reight.jpg (5.80 KB) |

So, Walgreen's just fired an employee cause he pulled a gun on a robber that tried to shoot him (but the robber's gun jamed).
Walgreen's said they have specific guidelines on how emplooyees should protect themselves - Uh huh. If you put a secutity guard in a cemetary, won't the teens shoot him first before shooting at each other??? |

Say what? How does Walgreens want their employees to protect themselves? With a paperclip? or a big bottle of aspirin... that'll really help after they get shot.
I love the quotes: My grandma said that she was sleeping in her room which her room is right there and she was trying to duck down more and more when she was hearing the actual shooting going on. uh, huh. Makes my brain hurt. And this one: Like twice a month there something going on in that area, she said. Theres always in and out, always, so Im not surprised that theres something going on. I am trying to be careful here, but, in general, the lower the intellect, the greater desire there is for someone to protect them. Perhaps it is a realization they can't protect themselves... or don't know how... |

One of our dysfunctional parents explained away her son killing two friends with a hand gun "he was just having a bad day"
The Walgreens Pharmacist that Bill is refering to happened about 25 miles north of here in Benton Harbor Michigan. The pharmacist had been robbed before working the third shift at this 24 hour Walgreens. Fortunatly the perps didn't know how to steal a quality weapon or how to operate a hand gun. They were using a jamo matic. |

According to Walgreens spokesman the employees are to take a submissive attitude and behavior towards gunman/robbers. My experience has been the lower intelligence/younger the person is the higher frequency of the individual carrying a handgun illegally. The power and boldness coupled with peer influemce becomes a dangerous mix with a handgun present. Sad but the cultural influence of certain minority groups enhance the problem by glorifying the gun as being a right of passage. Intellectual minority students have a problem with this issue which leads to intimidation and threats against them because of their excellent academic performance. Ninty two percent of our crime in the area is committed by 12% of the population, with 82% of that group below the age of 27. |

Sounds like a typical high crime area where the "community" wants someone else to make their community safe. It starts at home.

Walgreens says NO WEAPONS. We weren't allowed to have guns in our service trucks even as disaster relief teams in hurricane zones. I broke that rule on every trip i took for them. I recently left as the dept is being outsourced.

Recently a pharmacist that had been previously robbed was fired for confronting an armed robber while working for Walgreens. The robbers gun jammed and he produced his own. Walgreens fired him for violating it's no weapons policy. Walgreens policy is "Give it up".
