This is going to show my new-be-ness to the nth degree but I have to ask (there are not stoopid questions.......) On the dash just to the right of the head light switch there is a switch that doesn't do anything. My thoughts were that this is for the Driving lights. If it is and its just a matter of changing out bulbs how do I get to them? No screws on the outside and no access on the inside. Thanks.

I found the parking light bulbs (amber ones) and they look easy enough. But when I pulled the driving lights plugs out there wasn't a bulb on the end for either side.?

There are 3 sets of lights on the front of the car. For the sake of this thread, I'll call them this:

Headlights...
Fog lights (white)
Parking lights (yellow)

The yellows come on when you have the headlight knob at least one click out. (Two clicks out turns the headlights on also.)

The white fog lights come on when you have the headlignt knob at least one click out AND the switch turned on.

They can be gotten to from under the hood. There is a grey plastic bulb holder that turns 90* and locks into place in the housing. It has a flat part to grab onto to twist and remove. The bulb attaches to the end of it. It's sorta buried under there.

Thanks. I twisted and pulled the fog light connections out and there are no bulbs (a definite Eureka moment). The end looks like a wire connection instead of a bulb socket?

it should be a socket... but an open socket. The bulb doesn't have a plug on it, it has exposed wires and gets plugged in.

I wish I had a picture...

The light bulb should look like this:

That will give you an idea of the socket - go to rock auto and it will show you.

pulled mine the other day because the parking bulb was out just to ck them out. this is one area that the aftermarket could really make an improvement on. would be nice if someone made a reflector type replacement housing. there was a replacement silverstar ultrabright 880 on clearance at oriellys for 12 bucks. figured what the heck i'll try it. couldn't really tell the differance at all. dread pulling the drivers side housing as it is just sitting in the bumper appears the mounting bracket is broken. will probably just wait until i upgrade the bumper cover to tackle this one. hope everyone has a merry xmas and a happy new year1

This may help too if you want to wire them to be on withOUT your headlights popped up http://corvette1984.freewebtools.com/ ... /DrivingFogLights/FL.html

And while you're in there...why not just upgrade to HID? :-)

My 85 don't need to have head lamps popped up. They work on parking light setting also.
