I think this is a move in the right direction. I'm sure some Obamaphobes will object. I must admit I voted for Obama by default. I just could not punch the hole for McCain/Palin. He has been busy in the backgrouns doing many things he can do presidentially.

Hello my name is Marcus and I am an obamaphobehomophobedemocratephobe and also hate the fact that we are being overrun by our spanish speaking brothers from the south. Other than that I am quite balanced in my thinking.....

Troop cuts......we don't have enough troops now....
Illegal alians......what is it about illegal they don't understand.
Healthcare........we can't afford it and never will.
Democrates.......spend money they don't have and never will.
Republicans.......can't find their asses with both hands....
Taxes.......ridiculas now and going to get worse....
School systems......to much paperwork not enough teaching time.
Mexico.......One Seal team can take over their government in about 30 minutes and then we can turn it into someplace that they will want to stay not run away from......

Great response Marcus. I like the point about a SEAL Team take over of Mexico. I know 8 retired SEAL's that would do it for a wet burrito and beer.
When I study the candidates there is not much to pick from. Confidence in these wannbe leaders is really pathetic. Obama left many voters with a sense of new hope, a new beginning, an America to be proud of for new voters. Needless to say on many levels that didn't work out. I'm NOT a politician and will never aspire to become a part of that vocation. How do you appeal to the young minority voters that are skewed with liberal thoughts and ideas. To work hard, better yourself, get an education, have a value system will benefit mankind his fallen of the map and replaced with "I can play the system, let the middle class working stiff take care of my 9 kids from unknown fathers. BTW these are sperm donors nothing more nothing less. Damn I feel a rant coming on! Tommys right and had the balls to admit it, out of the two evils last election you try to choose the lesser.

The biggest problem is that the people who are elected, have no incentive to downsize government. Why would they want to cut their own throat? When the 537 elites are fearful that the electorate is physically coming after them with pitchforks and torches, then it will change. Until then, business as usual.

I don't like Obama, never did. He's a Marxist, like it or not. He wasn't vetted, pun intended, by the media. The content of his books, the lack of public availability of his college transcripts, his self admitted animosity towards his mother's race, and his self admitted pot and cocaine use. His father's politics, the politics, (communist), of his mentor Frank Marshall Davis. How does a poor black kid go to Harvard? His exposure to Black Liberation Theology.

I think Obama understands little to nothing about economics.

I honestly believe Obama doesn't like America as it is constituted, and has no admiration for anything in America's past. I further believe Obama would be content to "break it" in order to "fix it".

Ron Paul is a foreign policy nightmare. He's the only one that would make me vote Obama, or stay home.

I'd vote for any other Republican, the likely candidates are Santorum or Romney. I have strong reservations about both of those clowns, but I think either would do better on the economy than the current president who is quite comfortable leading from behind.

Back to the troop cuts. Primarily it's a cutback in ground forces and beefing up the air and naval operations. So the plan for the future may well lie in drones and/or the destructions of roads and bridges, services like power plants and ports, airports and the like. It took 15+ years for Iran to coame back from the last whoopin. Looks like they may have come back for another ass kicking. We don't need to occupy those sand boxes. We don't need to occupy the mountains of Afganistan. We need good intel, satelite imaging, a stealthy drone with a hefty payload. Next target. That's all I was digging at in the troop reduction area. House to house and occupation should only be used as a last resort.

I agree with you Bill. If it's just reallocating the funds then forget about it. What we need is serious debt reduction. Serious, take out the carving knife everybody's gonna feel it, slash it to the bone debt reduction. Things CANNOT keep going with business as usual. I don't give a crap who takes the reigns. You cannot spend your way out of this mess. Getting America back to work would help put a few pennies back into the coffers. With high oil prices, an international debt crisis, foreclosure backlogs and out of control domestic programs the economic future doesn't look too rosy to me . As in the past, less is more. Less government regulaion, less government intrusion, less government assistance. I'll vote for the man that wants less. Now there are some of which we need more. More domestic energy production. I understand right here in my own backyard they're getting ready to build two new nuclear power plants. I say yay to that. A roads and bridges program that works. Money for that should come from taxes on fuel, state vehicle registrations, new vehicle excise taxes and any and all forms of transportation that hits the blacktop including bicycles. Put a tax on those silly helmets cyclists wear, on handlebars or bring back bicycle tags. I'm on a roll. I could write pages and pages. It would be like trying to read the American tax codes. Speaking of tax codes .............
