Finally got my feet taken care of so I can run again. I havent run in over 2 months due to various foot problems. Even my shin splints healed. I ran 3 miles Monday at a decent pace 9:32 avg. Tues I felt a bit weird in my upper respritory but shrugged it off as nothing. It hit yesterday full blown upper cold/sinus problems. Last night it made its way to my chest. I cant hear, taste, I'm dizzy, sore throat and earaches. I'm all loaded up on drugs now. Is this my body's way of saying no to my staying in shape? Sheesh.

Every time I've attempted to take up an exercise regimen, I get sicker than a dog. So I've sworn off that stuff

It seems like its allways something. Busted bursa sack in my right shoulder, ingrown toenails, shin splints, plantar facitious, broken ankle, torn tendons in my right ankle. This is in the last couple of years.

Maybe after the flu/cold is gone it'll be time to look into low/no impact bicycling or swimming?

You need Irish Whiskey mate. Drink it, drink lots of it, and there is no question in my mind it will work.

Irish Whiskey has fixed more than its fair share of my issues over the years.

I had a bit of the Jack Daniels 86 proof stuff left still. That did wonders for me. I've got a bottle of Johnny walker red to open now :thumbright:

Its not the flu, thank goodness, just some sort of virus going around. I think I'm on the downside of it.

I wish I could get away with low impact stuff but 1: I really want to run at least a half marathon this year and 2: I still have to run a mile and a half twice a year for our PT test (military) and I like to do it under 12 minutes, 11 if possible.

I'll push through it. If I didnt have something wrong with me I'd be really worried.

Things will heal in time and you will be back running. My running group is eight runners and we have been together for twenty five years. We all have been injured at one time.

Driving to Tampa to a race as we write. Gasparila in Tampa is a race I've done for over 20 years. On Saturday, they do a 5K and a 15K and on Sunday, they do a half and a full marathon. Pick your poison. (15K).

Good luck. :thumbleft:
