My car started doing same thing. driving finr then juat dies. I smell gas.usually. have new 8.5 mm wire Nd ac platinum gaped at 50. new msd coil. Msd opt is 3yrs old. 8 k miles of use in time. yesterday i got in to it slid into second gear hit 5 k rpm and car died. voltage hand jumps around a redlight battery is good and Alternator. any ideas

When the car dies does it restart? Have you checked for any codes? How is fuel pressure?

5k and died.... damn... check the coil wire, too. sometimes they chaff against the waterpump and ground out.

Seriously, you guys are amazing. I could not make head or tail of that posting.

I'm always trying to learn symptoms and cures on these cars, but that one had me puzzled simply due to the language barrier!

I sometimes have that issue but I'm OCD and I go back and make sure it's all fixed, punctuated, and grammatically correct before it's posted.

Ah, thank you. I was wondering about the periods. I did not know that's how it works with "smart" phones (The smiley is for the smart part of the phone statement. It really is news to me. Trying to make sure I'm not taken the wrong way.)

Typically an ICM gets hot quits working and the engine quits. Then the ICM cools after 1/2hr or more and car retarts then the cycle repeats.
