HI Folks!

What year did GM put these tips on C4 Corvettes and where can you get them from without the muffler attached.

Thanks

92-96 LT1 - Not sure where to purchase exactly like the factory tips. I have seen box tips but they don't look as good as the factory pieces.

Go to Corvettes at Carlisle next month and take a truck.

Pick up an entire LT1 cat-back from one of the exhaust vendors. They are doing free installs and will simply throw the OEM one out. You can even afford to be a bit picky. I am thinking damned near close to free. You don't want to cut up the system... just means you have to weld back up later.

Call Vette2Vette and order up the front, middle and rear LT1 hangers. Or get them from Carlisle... I am sure a vendor will have them. The front bolts to the trans, the middle bolts to the diff cover area. The rear replaces the existing hook with a rubber bushing the muffler hanger slides into. Figure $50, tops.

Get a set of headers, and, if required, a pair of cats. I still like the idea of a pair of cheap bullet cats, cuts down on the stink and the pollution.

Hook it all up and you now have an extra 50hp.

Think I am kidding?

Clean up the xfire intake and you have another 20.

For under $500 you will pick up a boat load of power.

These tips were for 92 to 96. I thought I saw tips like these in one of the Corvette catalogs recently when I was looking for parts for my '91.

They may not be exactly like the factory but they were close. I think it was Corvette America, Corvette Central, or Ecklers.

Thanks for the replies.

Even though I would love to go to Carlisle (on my bucket list), I am forced to search locally.

Yes it is--2013 Grand Sport 60th Anniversary Coupe. I tried to change from C2C3C4 to C2C3C4C6 but for some reason it won't let me.
We have been trying to buy a new Corvete for the last 10 years. The same old problem--she wanted an automatic, I wanted a manual. When I drove this one with the paddle shift--I relented and gave in to her request! I don't think I can shift a manual as fast as the paddle shift. I really miss the old LT4. I liked the sounds that car made. The sound of the trans whine, the sound of the engine at idle and full throttle. This new GS is sooooo much different than the '96. I really like it, but it's too quiet for me. She thinks is just perfect--"keep the cook happy and everything runs smooth"!
After driving it for a while (3000 miles) it is growing on me--the saving grace is the eager 436 horsepower--this thing really flies!

More pictures.

I can only get one picture at a time. GM calls the interior "Diamond Blue"--it comes with the 60th anniversary package if you order the 4lt interior.

I'm hoping that the "Diamond Blue" leather color shows better in this picture.
