I'm hoping that the "Diamond Blue" leather color shows better in this picture.

More pictures.

I can only get one picture at a time. GM calls the interior "Diamond Blue"--it comes with the 60th anniversary package if you order the 4lt interior.

Yes it is--2013 Grand Sport 60th Anniversary Coupe. I tried to change from C2C3C4 to C2C3C4C6 but for some reason it won't let me.
We have been trying to buy a new Corvete for the last 10 years. The same old problem--she wanted an automatic, I wanted a manual. When I drove this one with the paddle shift--I relented and gave in to her request! I don't think I can shift a manual as fast as the paddle shift. I really miss the old LT4. I liked the sounds that car made. The sound of the trans whine, the sound of the engine at idle and full throttle. This new GS is sooooo much different than the '96. I really like it, but it's too quiet for me. She thinks is just perfect--"keep the cook happy and everything runs smooth"!
After driving it for a while (3000 miles) it is growing on me--the saving grace is the eager 436 horsepower--this thing really flies!

Going up to Jefferson Wisconsin today with our oldest son to a car show/swap meet. They usually have two shows a year and we attend both shows. Looking for parts and love to see the cars for sale. The weather will be perfect for a swap meet--cool and no wind! We'll probably walk a few miles at the swap meet and I'll be sore tomorrow!

Check your coil wire where it enters the opti. It's known to fail--ask me how I know!! When you get the wire off, twist the boot and see if it's split--mine was --drove me nuts trying to find it! The boot gets split, and shorts against the back of the water pump--common problem. Now I carry a spare coil wire!

We owned that car for 28 years. The last owner put the side exhaust on it. I sold it with 69K on it, now it has 90K. We drove that car all over the U.S.A. never a problem in all those years. We were out west in '95 when they were having a heat wave, and the AC blew cold all the time we were in it. Everything worked as it was designed, I wish I could say that about our LT4!

What would I have done if he had still owned it and wanted to sell it to me? I would have driven down to his town and wrote the check. Well, we returned from our "Dry Run", and it's 200 miles from our house round trip. We found some great 2 lane highways, and the road along the Rock River was really nice. There is some construction at a few places along the way (repairing bridges) but all in all a nice drive. The whole club will do it next weekend -- weather permitting.

Good Sunday Morning Guru's

Well, today we will take a "dry run" on our Fall Color Tour for our Corvette Club. The Tour is about 100 miles in Central Illinois. We'll start at a covered bridge, and run along the Rock River to a great restaurant that's right on the shore of the river. We'll all go on the 10th, but I want to see if these roads are Corvette worthy.

Let's go!! I have been there many times. We should take Rt. 23 south through Ottawa, and then take Rt.6 west to the Starved Rock Lodge. Route 6 runs along the Illinois River, and the last 3-4 miles are the best "Corvette" curves in Illinois!

I bought this box about a year ago. I'd been looking for a larger box, so I could keep all my tools in one place. It's all stainless, and has roller bearing drawers, and grip latch feature so that they close securely. We went there to buy a microwave, and I came home with this!

Your work is progressing well. One suggestion: put the check valve for your sump pump below the surface of the floor --in the pit right on the pump. Last year the connection on my pump failed, and all the water was discharging IN the basement. If you put the check valve in the pit, and screw it into the pump, there is only one connection with a clamp. That way there is less chance the clamp will fail. I have done this and it works great. I put two clamps on the valve where it connects to the discharge pipe, and put pipe clamps on the pipe where it runs up the wall to the outside. They hold the pipe to the wall firmly, giving it less chance of moving everytime the pump goes on.

Good Luck

"Baby is still sick. Wifey took her to the doctor yesterday and they said it's some virus. Sam was throwing up for two days, really congested, and developed some rash. On the third day she finally got a fever. Basically not much we can do for her except monitor her and give her children's tylenol if her fever spikes. Having a sick baby sucks. I was up about 10 times last night. Ugh".

It sounds like the baby has scarlet fever, those are all the symptoms [fever, rash]. The doctor will probably give an antibiotic. For Gods sake DON"T give the baby aspirin!! [Reyes syndrome]

We just went through this with our grandson. It must be something going around in northern Illinois!

Have you checked the neutral safety switch on the transmission? It prevents the car from starting when the selector is in drive or reverse. When it goes bad it will not start at all.

I didn't like the way you have to start it, there is no key! I didn't feel comfortable in the seats, I'm too big, my knees were between the steering wheel (in the uppermost position) and the dash. The seat would not go far enough back. I did like the dual mode exhaust, the head-up display, power telescoping steering wheel, forged chrome wheels, and the interior was gorgeous in that cashmere perforated leather.
In all fairness, the foam in the seats in my C4 were worn down from 13 years of use, I suppose that made them "fit" me more comfortably. The C6 was NOT any quieter than my C4 coupe, the engine felt a little weaker than my LT4, but there was only 28 miles on the C6.

I'm going back tomorrow to drive a new Cyber Gray 6 speed manual with the Z-51 suspension.

It's funny that you should ask this question. I'm going to the Dealer today to drive a C6. It's a white coupe with the cashmere interior, 3LT options, and polished chrome wheels. The only thing I don't like is the automatic transmission. I would prefer the 6 speed manual, but if I like how this one feels, I will probably order one and take the Museum delivery.

Tues-10/14--Went to the dealer and drove the C6 today, and I didn't like it!!! When I got back in the C4, it felt like putting on an old shoe. I was more comfortable, and the old LT4 was sure stronger than that C6 w/automatic. I guess I'll save the $53,000 and keep driving the C4!
